At all levels, people are talking about now wanting to pay their debts. People want bondholders haircutted in Ireland, the Greeks want to screw the banks, and yes... even in the United States of America, where debt costs are anything but onerous, there are politicians who think that a default and a crisis would be a good thing for the country.

ReplyDeleteNow that gold is at a record $ value its time the bankrupt US sold the reported gold it has at Fort Knox in order to pay some of its Treasury bill debts to other counties like China ,so The USA doesn’t have to pay the promised dividends on its ever increasing debts.
After all ,US Treasury debt bills are not a Ponzi and said to be good value .
Right?
Has America no faith and confidence in the value of its own debts and the future value of the dollar ?
As the US dollar is Fiat paper and it has no gold backing ,or convertibility ,what is the purpose of this privately owned bank still holding the American peoples gold as reserves?
Selling the gold reserves and buying treasury bills creating demand for the $ would be a great boost for the $ value and the need for deficit spending would be greatly reduced.
Less Austerity for the purported owners of the gold the American people would be required !
If America does not sell its gold in tough times then what is the purpose of having gold reserves?
Perhaps its intention is to shaft the foreign owners of these debts by inflating away the value of the dollar debts via money printing.
But , perhaps it cannot sell these supposed Gold reserves because they are only Tungsten or IOUs ?
The Fed and Fort Knox should be audited any gold still not stolen gold reserves sold off to buy treasury debt and the Federal "Reserve" Bank abolished.
