Is Politics Pushing Us Into Another Recession?

Hamid Zangeneh

The new slash and burn paradigm of American politics is going to be costly for the U.S. economy, and time is running out to put an end to the madness. The recent drama of our nation’s debt/deficit “crisis” is a prime example of politics pushing our economy to the brink of economic disaster. The manufactured “crisis” is mired in many economic misconceptions fueled by the political posturing of our elected officials. While we expected rivalry among Republicans, tea party Republicans, and Democrats leading up to the presidential election, it’s doubtful that any of us were prepared to see an all-out war that could drive the U.S. into deeper recession. The recession that we are struggling to come out of today is too fragile to withstand another blow created by the intransigence of politicians . . . .

  2. I don't get it - why is anyone surprised at the failing economies world wide? It's been obvious for years, ever since Nixon severed gold backing for the world reserve dollar, that such a system based on fait money is not sustainable. Why all this angst and wailing?
