Swine flu could cost trillions

Comment: Could this "disease" collapse the economic market? That way the government could put the blame entirely on the swine flu. Since no bailout or amount of money will help the economy, perhaps this is the best way for the collapse. FABRICATE a flu!

This afternoon, the WHO declared that the swine flu outbreak in Mexico and the U.S. is a health emergency of international concern.
Reuters has put together a list of estimates of the economics costs that may be incurred if swine flu becomes a full out pandemic. List Here

The World Bank estimated in 2008 that a flu pandemic could cost $3 trillion and result in a nearly 5 percent drop in world gross domestic product. The World Bank has estimated that more than 70 million people could die worldwide in a severe pandemic.
Australian independent think-tank Lowy Institute for International Policy estimated in 2006 that in the worst-case scenario, a flu pandemic could wipe $4.4 trillion off global economic output.

Two reports in the United States in 2005 estimated that a flu pandemic could cause a serious recession of the U.S. economy, with immediate costs of between $500 billion and $675 billion.

One report, from the Congressional Budget Office, said hospitals would have difficulty controlling infection and might become sources for spreading the illness.
A second report by New Jersey-based WBB Securities LLC predicted a one-year economic loss of $488 billion and a permanent economic loss of $1.4 trillion to the U.S. economy.

SARS in 2003 disrupted travel, trade and the workplace and cost the Asia Pacific region $40 billion. It lasted for six months, killing 775 of the 8,000 people it infected in 25 countries.
Between the autumn of 1918 and the spring of 1919, 548,452 people died of swine a flu epidemic in the US. (Note there's a bit of a debate about whether this was swine flu or some other kind of flu.)

  1. I think you are REALLY reaching with this. 60 deaths? There are 60 deaths from seniors slipping in the bathtub.

  2. A few things to consider:

    1) The 1918 Swine Flu epidemic was actually the result of a massive vaccination campaign coupled with war-ravaged sanitation and poor hygiene.

    2) 775 deaths from SARS may even be an overstatement. Most, if not all, of the symptoms of SARS mirror flu and pneumonia, which themselves take 36,000 deaths per year. Even accepting the 775 figure, that's hardly what one could call an epidemic.

    3) With sanitation and hygiene standards along with better knowledge of nutrition, there is absolutely no reason for a swine flu outbreak, unless people mindlessly get their shots and/or if this virus is maliciously unleased from Fort Detrick.

    4) The swine flu outbreak is to be expected since the elite need to find alternative ways to trim the population and distract from a global economic meltdown. Get ready for "terrorist attacks" as well.

  3. I figure stuff like this is just a trial run for the real thing later on. I'm nearly 100% positive that those in power have contagious infections far stronger and more deadly than anything we have seen on this earth. It's just not the right time to release those baddies yet.

The Bible mentions in the end times that many people will be killed by pestilences so they will come. Whether this flu is one of those pestilences or not remains to be seen.

I expect bio agents to be released that will kill millions quickly.

  4. What our owners decide to do they will do. All we can do is cope the best we can.

  5. I think this is a trial run also. Just to see how effective their wipe out program is going to be.

  6. i don't think anything is going to happen, you all are paranoid. if they wanted to kill us, they would/could have done it a long time ago.

  7. This could be a big thing, it could be over in two weeks. Right now it's more hype than anything. It is spreading fast, but the death rate is really not all that high. Could it be a test run, maybe, could it just be a spring flu gone astray, maybe.
One should always remain opened eye about what is going around us, but we should also not just jump to conclusions.

  9. Yesterday felt so-so. By noon today headache, sore neck muscles, scratchy throat, dizzy and temperature of 99.1 (99.5 or higher typically means I'm in for a rough ride) by 3PM CDST. Just saying. I'll see how tomorrow goes. If not better it's Tamiflu time.
