Ultimate Economic Doom Scenerio
Note: I have had this pic of a trillion dollars on a previous post, stacked double pallet high. Here it is again. (click to enlarge)
(snippet)
The U.S. dollar rubbing shoulders with the Zimbabwe dollar?
Mainstream economists and financial journalists shrug: "So what? We are not watching the basis of frozen pork bellies trading either when we make monetary policy." These gentlemen betray a lack of comprehension of the nature of the present financial and credit crisis. Whatever else it may be, this crisis, first and foremost, is a gold crisis with an incubation period measured in scores of years. It is about to reach its climax.
The world appears to be totally unprepared for it -- witness the silence surrounding the gold nexus.
Even the so-called sound-money Internet sites misread the situation. They are talking about an imminent breakout of the dollar price of gold from its holding pattern below $1,000 per ounce. Such breakouts have occurred from time to time since 2001, when gold broke through the "resistance levels" of $300, $400, etc. The coming breakout is not distinguished by the fact that $1,000 is an even rounder figure than the previous round figures that have been surpassed. It is distinguished by the fact that we are confronting a world event the like of which has never happened.
It has never happened that gold was unobtainable at any price. It has never happened that all governments have defaulted on their debt obligations simultaneously.
Still, we have to explain the relevance of this to the credit crisis. It is no secret that the bonds, notes, bills, and other obligations of the U.S. government, or any other government, for that matter, are irredeemable. That is, they are redeemable in nothing but more of the same. For example, the bonds of the U.S. Treasury are redeemable in Federal Reserve credit, which is itself irredeemable and is "backed by" the self-same bonds of the U.S. Treasury. Why is it, then, that these Treasury obligations are in demand where one might think that redeemability is a sine-qua-non of issuing them? What makes people participate in this shell game? How can such a crude check-kiting scheme mesmerize the entire population?
(last paragraph)
Yet the Last Contango in Washington will be different from all previous crises. It will be elemental, devastating, and apocalyptic. It will destroy virtually all paper wealth and render virtually all physical capital idle. It will involve hordes of unemployed people roaming the streets, caring for no law and order, pillaging homes and institutions. It will destroy our freedoms. It may destroy our civilization unless we take protective action.
On the positive side, it will sweep away the complacency of the managers of the regime of irredeemable currency and fundamentally weaken the sway of Keynesian and Friedmanite economics as it has a stranglehold on the teaching of economic science.
The Last Contango in Washington will eclipse the Great Depression of the 1930s. Be prepared.

I am building a bonfire of Vanities
ReplyDeletefor you to join me and my bible in.
Heh.
I could send this article out to my friends and family (some are millionaires), probably one or two might read the entire article. Most would not, as they do not want to hear the truth, they want to hear and think what they are told on TV or in the newspaper. Everything is good, recession over and unemployment going down...
ReplyDeleteWhen the SHTF, these people who think their net worth is what their computer or broker tells them, are in for the rudest awakening since the birth of Jesus. And they will need a miracle to even survive.
Stock up on storable food & H2O, buy gold and silver, and arm yourself. Its going to happen very soon. Remember, your dumbed down idiotic sheeple friends, family & the general public will have nothing, so be prepared.
God help us....
Does anyone else get the rolling eyes when you try to share the fact that people should be prepared for anything and everything at this period in time?
ReplyDelete98% of the public has no idea what WILL happen or what is really going on for that matter. 1.99% of us think we know what is going to happen while .01% KNOW what is going to happen. I like the 1.99% camp, because that's all I am allowed into.
ReplyDeleteSee the thing to remember that the people that callously killed 3000+ people on 9/11/01 don't have a problem with callously killing another 30,000,000 , putting another 30 million in FEMA camps, and selling their body parts on the market.
ReplyDeleteSomething to think about.
Vaccines with Aluminium Hydroxide/Squalene known to cause Gulf war syndrome and Gulliane-Barre syndrome.
Candy with Aspartame known to cumulatively lead to sudden death syndrome over the course of years.
Vioxx.
Genetically modified food with BT
That little incident where 'flu vaccine' sent to a country was discovered to have live Bird flu in it BY ACCIDENT.
The WHO now claiming that the vaccines given to gulf war soldiers are 'now known to not have contained any squalene' in direct opposition to recorded documents and testimony before our supreme court leading to a 2004 ban on the use of squalene by the pentagon handed down by the supreme court.
Television that bespouts an evil immoral worldview on a constant basis
Outlawing freedom of speach
Notice the little shitstorm "someone" is throwing at Sweden right now over an article discussing facts
uh huh.
To add to the proof that they are trying to thin the herd, your comment on Aspartame is right on.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donald Rumsfield for giving our kids poison to eat and drink.
Got an ant problem? Just put a couple packages of Equal out and the ants will take the sweet treat back to the ant hill where it will kill the queen. It is a toxic nerve agent. Originally marketed as an insect poison. Now available for your kids! They drink it in just about everything sweet - pop and candy. Shit!! Talk about blatant.
4:23 - Either people don't want to hear it at all or there is another type of person also. Ones that don't want to lift a finger or sacrifice anything but they want YOU to commit to saving them when SHTF.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, the odds are 99.9% that you are a nut, but why risk that .1%? They'll go along with what you say to make you happy.
Stocking up on food/water/etc and preparing for the worst? When SHTF, they are all going to come running. What are you to do then? Turn away starving friends? Maybe.
At some point in time you have to stop looking out for your friends and just focus on your family. I figure if warning those you care about of what is coming and you warn them often and they don't believe you, it's time to cut the cord as painful as it may be.
ReplyDeleteI do believe people can 'feel' that something is off or that something is wrong. Most people just can't mentally take the truth so they bury their heads in the sand. It's almost the people who believe are made a little different that those who don't believe.
When TSHTF I will protect my family and that's it. I would like to do more but warning people for years to prepare and they don't prepare I figure it's their problem not mine. It sucks but nothing else can be done.
THIS is the scenario I see playing out. Although, it may take a little while for gold to get into "unbuyable" territory.
ReplyDeleteThe reaction I get sometimes is, people implying that I'm "living in fear" and should have more faith. But if THEY had enough faith, they could face reality without fear instead of denying it.
ReplyDeleteMy brother magnanimously suggested we could live with them if things get too rough. That's nice, but, what are we going to eat? They're unprepared, with a huge mortgage and we're the opposite. They might end up living with us.
Faith belongs to God.
ReplyDeleteFor the world, a gun and bullets does the job.
Heh. DT's brother is already buttering DT up to the idea of 'sharing when times get rough'
ReplyDeleteNow you see how this hand is played.
The SHTF trigger may be the H1N1 virus bullshit this fall. Notice how everyday the banker media is hyping it up more and more. The last place people are going to be when they are scared to death is the mall.
ReplyDeleteGold will always be buyable. There just aren't enough uses for it to remain sitting idle in possession. Apart from jewelry and electronics, its only real use is trade. It isn't valuable as trade unless it can be traded FOR something (moved from one hand to another). Since it can not be eaten, it will likely be had for more important things. And even though it will be scarce it will not be impossible to get hold of.
ReplyDeleteGrab your bullets and your bible: apparently they are the only two things that will save you. LOL.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone want to venture a guess of how long before the SHTF and there are noticeable disruptions?
ReplyDeleteHard to say really. I thought we were getting close last year with the price of gas at 4 dollars and cities starting to go bankrupt and the cops on the verge of not being able to go get their donuts, but here we are still, thanks to the resilience of this corrupt machine nearing its twilight.
ReplyDeleteYes, Bernie is dead but they keep pushing him side to side so the illusion of a viable economy is still the norm.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cool Cool Kitty. It's hard to predict. There are so many things that could set it off, all of which are teetering on the brink of actually happening. There are rumblings about Sept-Oct being a major timeframe. I've sorta felt like next year is when it really unfolds, i.e. war, huge unemployment, hyperinflation, etc.

you know I have stocked up on about 1 month supply of food and water, which is all I can afford, I don't make much money to really stock up, but I have tried to tell friends and family to have at least 2-3 weeks of food on hand in case the SHTF and all of them say they don't need to do that because they will all just come to my house to eat if there is no food in the stores. I don't know how to feel about that cause I feel like my first priority is making sure my kids have food and water but then again do unto others as you would have them to unto you so I'm sure i'll end up handing out most of my supplies to family that didn't prepare at all.

ReplyDeleteBasically what I have done over the years, is give some knowledge, and if the family members want more, they know where to get it. On the other hand, if they do not want it, that is their decision, as sad as that may be. I look out for number one first,,,,then the rest. I never cut anyone off, as I have told them, just in case you change your mind, and want to come to my little area of the desert to watch as this unfolds,,,you are more than welcome, provided you bring as much food, ammunition, guns, etc as possible, then when you do arrive, their will be rules to follow, and chores to do. If not, then stay on the other side of the 6 foot chain link fence with 3 strands of barb wire.

Looks like you're one to talk,
poor vendictive fool who can only take cowardly, ill-aimed jabs.
All of your comments speak loudly about your dim personality.
Hi Kitty. It's me.
ReplyDeleteActually I meant that as a sort of gentle friendly joust, but I see your in no mood
for humour, even of the childish middle high
school kind.
I apologize as well to our administrator who does such a fine job running this blog.
I shall refrain from such behavior in the future.

Nice back-tracking. Is that what you'd call a "gentle, friendly joust"? Perhaps you are in need of some humor refinement and getting along with others.
