US Already 292 Billion In the Red This Year

Note: Very loosely speaking, $132 billion x 12 = $1.584 trillion collected. Total expenditures = $2.854 trillion. Deficit = $1 trillion. How do you balance that?

WASHINGTON, Dec 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. government racked up a gaping shortfall in the first two months of this fiscal year after posting a record budget deficit last year, congressional analysts said on Friday.

BONDS

In October and November, the government spent $292 billion more than it took in, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said.
That was even worse than the same period last year, when the government was on its way to posting a record $1.4 trillion deficit for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.
The federal budget has been battered by the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s, as tax revenues have plunged and spending on safety-net programs like unemployment insurance have skyrocketed.

  2. Ditto to 10:07. However, I have visited this site for the last 4 months and other like housingbubble.com for the past 2 years, and yet, it's business as usual. How many years can they keep this circus running? Just amazing, how in the world does the common man prepare? Anyone else feel this way?

  3. The nails are going into the economic coffin.

  4. The "common" man gets a generator, plenty of guns and ammo, food, water and other necessities. Gold and silver, if you can afford it, and prepares as you would for any "natural" disaster of great magnitude.

  5. I hear ya 10:25...

That's the $64,000...err, the $64,000,000,000,000 question. How long can this charade go on?

I have no idea. That being said, yes, I'm probably nuts, but for the first time in my life I own a collection of guns and quite a bit of ammo, as well as a bit of a stash of water and food. Will any of that "help" me if/when this thing falls apart? I have no clue - but I guess it can't hurt.

If you are speaking only in terms of "keeping your money safe," in my opinion there is no legit safe haven right now, as feel at though we're in the midst of an asset bubble, regardless of whether or not the dollar rebounds.

Every day I can't help but think something along these lines:

"Something" is coming. I don't how bad it will be, or if in the end "it" will be a "good" thing because of the changes "it" brings about. Nor do I know when "it" will get here. "Something" IS coming though.

At this point, I feel like I/we are in one of the "meteor" movies, like Armageddon. Remember how they had those diagrams that showed where the meteor was relative to a "point of no return" radius, at which point the meteor was sure to strike the earth? Well, in my opinion, we are past the "point of no return" and the "meteor" is going to hit. The only questions at this point are WHEN it's going to hit, and how big darn thing is.

I am not a complete pessimist though. I honestly believe that "we" will get through this. I just think it's going to be one heck of a bumpy ride...

WTF are you talking about? As usual?! For two year both my wife and I lost our jobs, lost our house and for you it is "business as usual". Are you one of the bankster? Then for you it is business as usual. For us, from this planet, it's not.

  7. Still need to work on the water situation. I haven't chosen a filter.

Check out the Katadyn filters. Their Gravidyn is a good choice if you don't care about mobility...and the Combi is good for a backpack size.

You can buy either on ebay for RELATIVELY good prices...

  9. On the cheap, buy a lot of cheap coffee filters. Pre-filter out the water before using the Katadyn or other filter.

Nothing, and I do mean nothing, will be worth more than a quality reusable water filter. A Katadyn can extract water from a mud puddle and make it drinkable. Marvel of technology.

Also if you use Bleach or Purodene to treat infected/tainted water for drinking remember to first loosen the threaded cap and shake. Let some of the treatment leak out. If not, there will be enough microbes left on the threads to really mess you up.

Start saving all your quality empty water containers.

    Research MMS Miracle water treatments.

  10. 10:25 agreed. I have to shake my head at people that say they have heard bad things are coming, but when will it start? - doh! Look around. Slow death, that is all. We have a giant tic aka gov/banksters slowly sucking the life out of us.

  11. Thanks, 12:54 and 1:15, I'll check out Katadyne. I've looked at Berkley filters, but I haven't pulled the trigger and chosen one yet, but I need to have one ready. Even if life continues without collapse, etc, it'll be good to have for camping. I'll pick up coffee filters too. I have about five cans of coffee stored, but I need to get more!

You can look for Katadyn (www.katadyn.com) and Lifesaver Bottle (or Jerrycan)(www.lifesaversystems.com) water filters.

Not that I really disagree with you, and I can't tell if you are an American or not...

However, if you are from another country, unless you're part of some tribe along the Amazon or something, you're probably every bit as hosed as we are.

  14. No water filter yet, but I just bought about 500 coffee filters. Thanks for the tip 1:15.

  15. 6:45 you sound like quite the intolerant, judgmental and angry person. I love how you categorize everyone in one lot. You have probably never even visited the USA. How old are you? While I can't disagree that the population on the whole is numbed out and apathetic, you need to grow up and perhaps channel that angst to something more productive.
