Your New Years Resolution: Move Your Money

Last week, over a pre-Christmas dinner, the two of us, along with political strategist Alexis McGill, filmmaker/author Eugene Jarecki, and Nick Penniman of the HuffPost Investigative Fund, began talking about the huge, growing chasm between the fortunes of Wall Street banks and Main Street banks, and started discussing what concrete steps individuals could take to help create a better financial system. Before long, the conversation turned practical, and with some help from friends in the world of bank analysis, a video and website were produced devoted to a simple idea: Move Your Money.

The big banks on Wall Street, propped up by taxpayer money and government guarantees, have had a record year, making record profits while returning to the highly leveraged activities that brought our economy to the brink of disaster. In a slap in the face to taxpayers, they have also cut back on the money they are lending, even though the need to get credit flowing again was one of the main points used in selling the public the bank bailout. But since April, the Big Four banks -- JP Morgan/Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo -- all of which took billions in taxpayer money, have cut lending to businesses by $100 billion.

  1. The worst scumbag, JP Morgan (heirs), still has to put his filthy name on his bank. Lest we forget it was this thief in the night that stole America away on Christmas Eve 1913.

He was only able to do that because three equally wealthy families that opposed the formation of the Fed died aboard the Titanic in 1912. A ship built by JP Morgan. Very few people know that it wasn't some 1 in a million shot that the Titanic sank. It was built in order to kill those opposed to the Fed.

That is how the elite work. They have no problem with killing thousands by sinking ships, bombing planes, or demolishing buildings in order to hit their target or advance an agenda.

Inbred deluded freaks gone power mad.

America's future sank with the Titanic.

  3. Move Your Money.... great idea
but doesn't the money just get into the scumbags hands anyway?

Who really owns the mom & pop banks?
I'm sure they are all controlled & owned by the big banks if you stare up the tree long & hard.

Just like politics give the illusion you are choosing between 2 parties.
Truth is both are fronts for the new world order scum.
Oh ya you can choose the poison in the red bottle or the poison in the blue bottle...
    same crap different label.

The only way to beat these douchebags is to take your money out of the system period.
Pay yourself the interest and wait for the collapse.
Hopefully that will wake the sheep and there will be a chance to get the country back into the hands of the people.
    Private banks should be outlawed.
Wall street should only be allowed to sell lemonade.

  4. Moving your money to the small bank is like believing the illusion of the local farmers market.
We all have the sugar plum fantasies of the local hard working farmer toiling and delivering our food.
Behind the feel good labels like organic or locally grown most of the food comes from the giant wholesaler.

There are no George Bailey's left out there.

  5. I don't necessarily agree that all banks are that way. I was able to find a small, local bank that is family owned.

I was able to determine its safety by asking one simple question:

"Do you now or have you ever accepted the Matricula Consular card as valid ID for a loan or credit card?" Get an answer to that and you'll have your answer as to the safety of the institution. That form of ID is issued ONLY to illegal aliens. Any bank that accepts that as proper ID (knowing they could be deported at any time) demonstrates to you that they are likely to be reckless with your deposits.

  7. Just get a safe and keep your cash there. The ridiculously small interest the banks are paying on deposits (after taxes close to zero) is hardly worth the risk you might not be able to get those FRNs out at some point. This is of course the cash you haven't converted to gold/silver that you need to get through your day to day life.

  8. Use a state credit union if you can. They are non-profit. No stockholders or high-paid execs. They also are very conservative on lending and are NOT investment houses.

  9. BTW, the North Carolina state credit union pays 2% on savings accounts.

  10. Credit union here is paying 2% and to be eligible to join you just have to live in one of a long list of towns.

  11. Maybe everyone should move out of money completely meaning FRN's (federal reserve notes) and simply not use the system.

We can vote for congress men that will obey the USA Constitution regarding money and have the USA print its own money instead of the Federal Reserve which only adds DEBT.

Then there should be FRAUD investigations and judgements made against the PRIVATE FEDERAL RESERVE and the fines could be used to help pay off the USA debt.

Then we need to do something about all of the incentives for companies to move jobs outside the USA.

  12. Voting is useless. Voting says you have faith in an entirely corrupt system. Your vote, your desires, mean -0-.

  13. Soon the sheeple will be lining up for full body Xray nude scanning to protect them from al-CIA-duh bad guys at airports.

They will suffer the worst form of humilation at the hands of the same government that carries out the terror. Us.

Oh wait. No. People can still stuff explosives up their butt. So, eventually, if you want to fly they will be getting out the rubber glove + the full X-ray.

This is how bad it is got now. The sheeple will never say enough is enough because they are dumbed down cowardly lemmings.

  14. 12:02 I agree completely. Watching the news the lemmings were stating they need more security. The gov't has scared us into believing that if "we" take care of you, you will comply easier then you will be SAFE. This is a setup for future fake terrorist acts. So they can manage the public like Hitler did.

  15. If Joe or Jane the individual starts a business they must provide a safe product or service or they get shut down.

Why are the airlines immune to these rules?
Obviously govt wouldn't let you a drive an unsafe vehicle hell, you're even forced to wear seatbelts. And a friggin helmet just to ride a bicycle.

Govt would mandate the end of air travel....
    Ya right,

  16. Actually the real lemmings seem to have not noticed that the bombing has already been used as an excuse for yet another incursion into a foreign country, that being Yemen. They are also accusing Iranians of supproting them with weapons. Looks like the "cause of freedom and democracy" just gets bloodier every day. Wake up. The empire is making its final stand. It isnt about your dog getting an RFID chip and not being able to shop for crocs any longer at Wal Mart because trucking is down.

  17. It makes me sick. I pity the poor innocent people we slaughter and feel great remorse for it. As a subject of an Empire I feel helpless to do anything. It isn't like my vote counts or anyone in power cares what I say. All blood and money.
