  1. Is this in the Detroit area? Looked like a sign was area code 810?

  4. Southeastern Mass, a lot of newly constructed strip malls sit empty. I've seen some flooring and hardware stores close up. There's a residential foreclosure on my street as well. But right now, it doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as in the rest of the country. I know there are a lot of jobless in Mass. A ton of layoffs. But these were high paying executive jobs with severance pay. Plus Mass. unemployment benefits are relatively generous and have been extended. Once the extended benefits start running out, I think we'll catch up with the rest of the country.

  7. Many photos are repeats, and why are there some pictures of the airport? The photos with the four poles; these are approach lights for at the end of the runway.....you can't put anything in this particular area to begin with. I agree there are many buildings here but many look like they are nothing but bulldozer material to begin with....still it's sad and I think this will become commonplace all over the states.

  9. I live in South Florida. Lots of vacant store fronts everywhere and growing.

I figure by December, 1 in 2 stores will be closed up.

  10. I live in San Jose, CA. You can drive up and down the streets in Silicon Valley and see 40% vacancies of office space. Uncompleted buildings that have been abandoned after the steel frames went up.

  14. There is a very small upscale strip mall near my house that has been full since '90. Now, all empty except for an Ace Hardware. Even Starbucks across the way is closing.
