Pay your taxes on these IOU's that we will not accept
NOTE: Thank you for the 2 people who donated to help keep this blog open.
SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - Small businesses that received $682 million in IOUs from the state say California expects them to pay taxes on the worthless scraps of paper, but refuses to accept its own IOUs to pay debts or taxes. The vendors' federal class action claims the state is trying to balance its budget on their backs.
Lead plaintiff Nancy Baird filled her contract with California to provide embroidered polo shirts to a youth camp run by the National Guard, but never was paid the $27,000 she was owed. She says California "paid" her with an IOU that two banks refused to accept - yet she had to pay California sales tax on the so-called "sale" of the uniforms.

The TWO people that contributed!!?? LOL (I was one and I eat Top Ramen, Potatoes, and Macaroni and Cheese)
ReplyDeleteComeon you cheap asses. Pitch in $3 or whatever. I mean I know this is the internet where everything is assumed 'free' but EA really could use a little support. Let him buy his cat some food dammit. Is $3 - $10 really going to break you?
OK I just sent in $15.55. The last of my college fund money. I hope you are happy!
ReplyDeleteI is not a college student anymore.
Poor lady got stiffed for $27k and they still wanted their tax money. Government - parasites.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great website! I also contributed 15 bucks. Hope this helps! And thanks for all the hard work you do!
ReplyDeleteGreat! Now who else can step up with another $15 or so. EA needs some tire dressing for his Ferrari. The tires are not shimmering in the daylight by his Olympic size pool they way they are supposed to - please help.
ReplyDeleteFunny about the Ferrari, I can afford the cleaner for the tires? I own a 1992 BMW with 315,000 miles on it, by the way. Many thanks for the donations! I will works extra hard for y'all.
ReplyDeletei threw $20 at it. :)
ReplyDeleteA "youth camp run by the Natonal Guard"? Maybe the National Guard can teach youth to blow up houses, or entire villages.
ReplyDeleteOr round up people and send them to FEMA camps and force vaccinate Amerikan citizens.
Like slowly boiling frogs....the frogs never realized it....
I'd rather have a BMW with 315k on the odometer than a Ford Pinto with 43k.
ReplyDeleteDO YOU FEEL ME?
Try fixng it, an oil change is more than the cost of the PINTO.
ReplyDeleteDO YOU FEEL ME?
Well parts may be more expensive, but it'll BREAK A WHOLE LOT LESS THAN A FORD PINTO.
ReplyDeleteAlso, You use Castrol Edge 15,000 mile , 5 quarts , right? And you do your own oil change like everybody else. It costs about $30, but your oil change is good for over a year.
You're better off using the Synthetic, less engine wear, better fuel efficiency.
Since when the hell do youth camps for the National Guard need embroidered polo shirts? What ever happened to t-shirts?
ReplyDeleteCalifornia deserves what they're getting if this is how they prioritize their money.
What does a Pinot have to do with anything?
ReplyDeleteWhen is the last time you saw a Pinto on the road? Know what PINTO means? Put In Nickel To Operate.
Anyways, I have been layed off from my job since January, on unemployment. No contributions from me, I am spending nothing, saving nothing, doing with less all around. My house may be on a NOD before too much longer.
Godd luck to all.
Dude. $15 is 75 packages of Ramen Chicken flavored chinese noodles.
