Comment: Millions of people use Library internet services throughout the US. Is this the sign to come? All Free Library of Philadelphia Customers,
We deeply regret to inform you that without the necessary budgetary legislation by the State Legislature in Harrisburg, the City of Philadelphia will not have the funds to operate our neighborhood branch libraries, regional libraries, or the Parkway Central Library after October 2, 2009.

Just a symptom of the beginning-if they think this is bad, wait until they take over the libary building to set up a soup line to help feed people out of work and starving in the near future.
ReplyDeleteNO doubt the city of Philly has plenty of money for the Eagles football games or other sporting events. Never mind the libraries..
ReplyDeleteStrange how the MSN never picks up on these stories.
Not just economic on this one. Governor and house can't agree on a budget STILL! Rendell wants to raise taxes, state congress wants to cut spending.
ReplyDeleteOh, its always the libraries and the firemen that go first. Never mind that the pols in every city/town that cut these services will fight tooth and nail to preserve their full pay and benefits, including bloated pensions curtesy of the taxpayer.
ReplyDeleteISN'T IT IRONIC THAT THE LIBRARY "SYSTEM" IN PHILLY ( AND MOST OTHER PLACES...) IS CALLED THE "FREE LIBRARY" ! IT'S NOT FREE. NEVER WAS, NEVER WILL BE... IT'S FUNDED BY TAX DOLLARS CONFISCATED FROM US, THE WORKERS AND TAXPAYERS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF PENNSYLVANIA AND THE USA... PEOPLE WILL SOON WAKE UP TO THE TRUTH OF THE NO FREE LUNCH DOCTRINE!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete11:10 am, no lie.
ReplyDeleteSo are the roads and highway systems, and everything and anything else the gubernment does.
All our taxpayer dollars at work, or NOT.
sorry folks I have friends in Philadelphia and they tell me that this news is false, the library is open and all other services are operating normally. They also tell me that economic activity in the area has picked up, all unemployed have found a job and business going back to normal.

ReplyDeleteYes, things in Philly are going great, and some citizens have seen Santa making an early appearance.
Please, go to another blog, like one of the MSN blogs, where the sheeple hang out. They believe anything...
Oh no, all this research and articles I find are all lies...
