New York to Follow California's Collapse: Its Getting Worse

Igor Panarins' Map of the USA
New York State is quickly becoming the next California, as tax revenues drop 36% from 2008 levels, and a dejected governor expressing his frustration with policy measures that continue to not bear fruit. As a reminder the state most reliant on the financial sector, is struggling with a $2.1 billion budget deficit that is still looming despite tax increases, federal aid and spending cuts.
We added personal income tax, which we thought would make the falloff 10 percent to 15 percent,” Paterson, a Democrat, said on CNBC today, referring to $5.2 billion in new or increased taxes. “This is what is so frustrating. It’s still 36 percent, meaning our revenues fell more in 2009 than they did in 2008.”

  2. 8:01 you're a retard. I live in NYC, own a few restaurants and know the crowd of Rest. owners. Sales are way down. The big shots used to come in and buy bottles of high end wine, now its glasses. The people fill our places but the money is not spent anymore. The big shot days are finished. When we have restaurant meetings everyone is saying the same thing, what the hell just happened?

  3. New York is doing good, businesses working well, new businesses opening and unemployment going down in the area. California anyway is getting out of trouble very fast. Everything is doing great people... no collapse on the way.

  5. 8:39 you make a fool of yourself with each post. How does it feel being the resident retard? Even MSN is admitting this is becoming an economic disaster. Looks like you'll be the only retard left standing.

  6. 8:58 how do you prove you're right by making useless posts that don't have any meaning? You are the top loser on this site, complete without a link or any type of meaningful info. Its way past your bed time, mommy is calling.

    ReplyDelete
  7. 9:06 There is no need for links or info, all you need to do is get out of your cave, have a look around and see how businesses are doing well, how people are living there lives normally, how a lot of people are still in the shops buying and consuming and if you want data just walk into a company and have a look at their financial report and look at the record profits.

Also don't be afraid to get out of your cave as FEMA (or whoever) have not declared martial law, it is safe to walk outside (this is not a trap, it is real there is no martial law)

  13. Stop feeding the troll. Anyone with half a brain knows the economy is going to roll over and die soon enough so don't bother responding.

  14. I live in Upstate NY and our company has been on "workshare" for a year now. FYI, Workshare is part-time employment and part-time unemployment benefits.

Things in NY state are NOT good.

  15. P.S. Yes the individual who says everything is ok is truly a retard.

In fact, he is the CEO of Retard Inc.

  16. Economic Analyst : Keep up the good work on the blog. I know a lot of others have been harrased to the point of shutting down the blogs. When people pannic (ie: people with investments) they will try to paint a better picture of things, because, frankly, they have a lot to loose.

  17. Is it just me or has jack in the crack reduced the size of its' tacos? Damn.

  18. When I went in to Taco Bell the other day one of the workers threw a burrito and it hit me square in the head. I haven't been back in since but I can tell you this: the customer service at that one is starting to stink!

    ReplyDelete
  19. 12:02 what a calamity the reduction in Tacos size is bigger than the financial crisis. Surely the economy will not recover from that. Hide everybody everything will collapse as the size of Tacos has been reduced ......whahhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..ooooh i lost my breath there ..whwhhahahahahahahahahahahaha .... call an ambulance .....whahahahahahahahahahahaha uuuur...whahahahahahahaha

  21. Everyone, this just in: The Financial Crisis is just a PSYOPS. They wanted to firedrill everyone and make sure they were staying on their toes and ready for the REAL BIG WHAMMY: THREES COMPANY HAS BEEN CANCELED INDEFINITELY. That's right folks. Just so you know, there will be NO MORE EPISODES and you can thank the UN for this one. I KNEW Janet's last hairdo was a false flag. Ladies and Gentlemen MR FURLY has just left the building.

  22. Businesses are dying on the vine.

First poster is just an insect of no significance.

Ask ANY business owner how well he is doing in 2009 and you will get the same answer, with the exception of pawn shops and video rentals.

    ReplyDelete
  23. "THREES COMPANY HAS BEEN CANCELED INDEFINITELY" so this is what the Bilderberg were up to, I though the Tacos size were their main objective, but now I get it, they created this whole crisis to get rid of Threes Company. Surely this is the "coup de grasse" the economy will definitely not recover from that.

  24. When all of you expected crash, they will be no crash near future. mid 2010 probably when every body singing 'recover' song again

  25. 1:55 you forgot a zero in 2010, it will happen mid 20100.

  26. I live in the Midwest, things are great here, very few layoffs, I still have a great job and spend as normal, not that I am a crazy spender. That said, I am taking small steps as I am quite sure the game will be over here pretty soon, storing a bit of extra food, keeping some cash at home, etc.

  27. Though there are sure to be isolated spots that are doing well, on the whole, things stink in the US. It doesn't look like any "rebound" or "greenshoots" will be lasting. The only thing lasting is more depression.

    ReplyDelete
  28. During a depression, NOT every area is affected. In other words, maybe some area in TX would not have the same issues as say Detroit or another area where the depression has already hit. So if your area is not affected by an economic downturn currently, that does not mean the entire economy is ok.

Of course if you are a "TV person" or sheeple, you will never know what hit you.

  29. As a practicing Catholic, I can say I must agree with 8:01 that through the power of willful ignorance and outright denial, we can change the world. We can make the economic calamity go away! In fact, we can make all bad things go away by simply ignoring them, and pretending they don't exist.

    Amen.

  30. im in the construction "industry" and to Mr. Retard Troll...: you are either intensely delusional or intentionally trollalicious..... In either case, the reality of the business climate in the northeast ( NJ ) where i work is bad and getting worse... We are DOWN 30 from our 2008 business and off 45% from our 2007 numbers.... we are not calling back the 6 guys that got laid off LAST October, and no raises for anyone. Of course the deduction from our checks for our portion of the health insurance group policy premiums keeps going up and up.... So people really are seeing a backwardization of their standard of living... I reckon were back to somewhere around 1980 right now..... The contractors and home remodelers we serve are crying the blues BIG TIME... And we deal with "Top Tier" contractors... not the " Bill, the neighborhood handyman" types ( although there's nothing wrong with being one of those....! They are needed too! ). But REAL business people out in the REAL world on Main Street KNOW what's going on...
If you are not in some Banking industry thats getting billions in stimulus money, or own a business that's getting contracts funneled to it through your "buddy" congresman XYZ, you are hurting and you're between a rock and a hard place....
Who would want to expand a business or hire additional people in this business / political climate?? The sooner the reset button is hit, the sooner we'll be able to reform in a sustainable fashion.... It's gonna hurt in the short term though..... get ready... time's a flying !

What did you expect from Mr. Retard Troll? He is the CEO of Retard Inc. you know.

But anyways, I work for a company that produces the safety equipment for the Utility companies (Lineman).

It has been said that "utilities" were "always" a safe bet in any environment. That being said our business is down 30% from last year and utility companies are NOT hiring new lineman or buying equipment.

I hear ya bro... its a domino effect.... god only knows how long until our company is forced to do another round of layoffs....
Its different now though... American jobs are going, and they're not coming back....
My father is a skilled welder, laid off in April this year... and he's goofing around like as soon as his unemployment is up, then he'll just go out and find another job....
guys like him look at it as a nice 1 year paid vacation.... but he won't listen to me.
he WAS union afl-cio for 30 years, and that train of thought is hard to "reprogram"....
    Change is coming...... real change......
