Biggest Holders of US Debt Is Not China or Japan But..

As the US government spends an unprecedented amount of money to fix the nation's economy, there is an equally great need to raise the cash to pay for it. This is accomplished through borrowing, whereby Uncle Sam sells Treasury securities of varying maturity.
For investors, the government bills, notes and bonds are considered a safe financial product because they have a guaranteed rate of return, based on faith in future US tax revenues. The government has been partially funding operations via Treasury securities for decades.
This borrowing adds to the national debt, which has climbed above $11 trillion and is rising every day. Much of that debt is held by private sector, but about 40 percent is held by public entities, including parts of the government.  Here's who owns the most.

(snippet)
1. Federal Reserve and US Intragovernmental Holdings
That’s right, the biggest holder of US government debt is actually inside the United States. The Federal Reserve system of banks and other US intragovernmental holdings account for a stunning $5.127 trillion in US Treasury debt. This is the most recent number available (Sept 2009), and is at an all-time high, rising in every reporting period since 2007. About a decade ago, the total government holdings were "only" $2.5 trillion.

  2. What? The economic data we've been led to believe is FALSE? We are basically owned by the Federal Reserve you say? Outrageous just like the chocalate bar!

What time is Enterainment Tonight on? I hear there's a new story on Tiger Woods dating the OctoMom and giving the baby to Angelina Jolie.

  3. As we default on the Federal Debt, the lender "The Federal Reserve, China etc" will demand their property and by default the Federal Reserve cabal of banks will own huge amounts of the USA, that has always been the plan, as Chins wants out, the Federal Reserve will buy their bonds to own all the US debt, Fannie and Freddie hold 90 percent of all mortgages and can call in the loans at any time, upon which a massive default will easily transfer all US debt and property to the Federal Reserve and it member banks and investors and we will all be serfs.

  4. Timothy P,

Relative to today's standard of education I actually wouldn't be too surprised if he was a college student. I knew a kid in one of my classes who, after watching the movie Prozium and the teacher giving us an assigment to discuss why or why not it would be okay for the government to forcibly drug people said, "I think it would be a good idea maybe, there would be no wars anymore." Yeah he was about 19. What is even more shocking is the idea that the teacher was that stupid, was that actually a serious debate? She really thought it was.

That is really how they make each generation worse and worse - progressivism, which is actually degressivism, make people in time think the most delusional things are normal and make people think normal people are delusional. That way everyone becomes drained of their energy as they are forced to try to focus on things that shouldn't be a problem in the first place (mass drugs and/or obesity, increasing teen pregnancy, etc). They then put other stuff in the spotlight and make it seem like, "controversial new topic" - which is really not controversial and just keeps people diverted.

How sad it is for intelligent people in this world who wanted a world to learn and excell in... to be held back by such things like rabbits in a turtle race... nobody cares about the rabbits who are already at the finish line, nobody is there to see them.

The future generations will make a good movie about this timeline. It will be called, "No Planet for Dedicated Learners".

  5. Thanks EA that was fantastic. Just what I needed after a long, hard day. Laughter!

  6. I counted 30 grammar and spelling errors in that email. The sad thing is, he probably is a college graduate.

  7. EA you are ritered.

Wow. Hilarious. I actually take care of a mentally challenged person and I can tell you he has it all over this Andy fellow in the literacy department. He could write a more legible letter, with fewer errors. Plus he is a kind person and not a heartless prick.

Andy, if you are reading these comments, you need to know there are help centers located nationwide that can assist you with your disability. We are here to help.

  8. This guy never owned a Speak and Spell as a kid.

How do you spelled retarded "ritered." I mean braindead! lol

I honestly am having trouble eating my dinner right now; can't stop laughing.

The arrogance of the moron typing about Eugenics - holy crap!!

Sorry folks but this is the best ritered email I have ever been fortunate enough to read.

  9. Poor Andy.

He is not even aware of the intellectual deficit he will be burdened with for what I suspect will be a short and rather dramatic life of well deserved hardship.

I would write more, but why bother, given his utter inability to comprehend the most basic of concepts.

    Good luck lad.

  10. Gee,this is nice to hear...Most of the debt is to the U.S...I'll be sure to tell my friend. She thinks the Chinese will be dragging us off our properties and making us their slaves.Stranger things have happened in history,I suppose. She will be relieved. The slave owners will be giving us orders in english,at least.

  12. please discuss the solutions... what are they? how are we going to change what is happening... to focus on andy and ignorance will only prolong the effect...not to mention, negative comments create nothing, but negativity... I would like to create a better world, I am tired of being stuck in this one... What are the solutions...what are the steps, the process and the actions we must take. Humbly: Wrina@msn.com

  13. The solution to the problem is to build a vehicle suitable for space travel, get in it, and then launch yourself into space (outer if possible). What this will do is free up more space on this planet for those who aren't so GD pathetic that they have to get on the internet (which somehow turned into a whiners paradise) and ask how we can better the world. The answer is COMMON SENSE. Thats it. Thats all. Stop looking for some new way to improve or change things. We are the same people we were 50 yrs ago. 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 eyes, a heart, liver, kidneys and a fucking brain. We just have more useless, expiration date-riddled objects and wants than they did 50 or 100 yrs ago. WE ALL FUCKED THIS UP. Not one side or one group of people did this. Also, not one side or group of people will fix this. It has to be a combined effort. Ya know, like we are designed for. So, in closing, I would like to take this opportunity to tell all of you to SHUT THE FUCK UP and get back to basics......LIVING. Good Day,

  28. I am new to developing sites and I was wondering
if having your blog title related to your articles and other
content really that vital? I notice your title, "Blogger: The Coming Depression " does seem
to be spot on with what your website is about but yet, I prefer to keep my title less
content descriptive and based more around site branding.
Would you think this is a good idea or bad idea? Any kind of help would be greatly valued.

more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and all.
Nevertheless think about if you added some great images or videos to
give your posts more, "pop"! Your content is excellent but with
images and video clips, this site could definitely be one of the greatest in
