Washington Refuses Tell The Truth

Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich recently warned that the U.S. is likely headed back into recession:
The Economic Truth That Nobody Will Admit: We’re Heading Back Toward a Double-Dip
Why aren’t Americans being told the truth about the economy? We’re heading in the  direction of a double dip — but you’d never know it if you listened to the upbeat messages coming out of Wall Street and Washington.
Consumers are 70 percent of the American economy, and consumer confidence is plummeting. It’s weaker today on average than at the lowest point of the Great Recession.
The Reuters/University of Michigan survey shows a 10 point decline in March — the tenth largest drop on record. Part of that drop is attributable to rising fuel and food prices. A separate Conference Board’s index of consumer confidence, just released, shows consumer confidence at a five-month low — and a large part is due to expectations of fewer jobs and lower wages in the months ahead.
So is Reich correct? Are we headed back toward recession? We should be so lucky.

Japan Sees Greater Hit to Economy as Nuclear Crisis Deepens

  1. Okay. Thanks for reiterating what we already know. But then again we aren't going into a double dip - but we did plunge from the first recession into an irreversible depression.

We're done. Bye-bye USA, it was nice knowing you for the small time I lived within. I guess the rest of my life will be spent hunting for scorpions and rabbits in the southwest to stay alive. Might be fun.

I was just reading Hagakure, Book of the Samarai. The following passage is quoted from what the author said another samarai told his grandson.

"No matter whether one be of high or low rank, a family line is something that will decline when its time has come. If one tries to keep it from going to ruin at that time, it will have an unsightly finish. If one thinks that the time has come, it is best to let it go down with good grace. Doing so, he may even cause it to be maintained."

My gosh how our enormous egos, party orientated prejudice, the inability to stop messing with the system, perverting the message of life with reality shows and greed, and a lack of concern for our minds and bodies not only prevented us from pulling the vehicle out out of the water, but we've caused it to sink all the way under the mud.

  2. To 9:21 There's a Chinese variant on the samurai quote - Whether you go up the ladder or down, your position is always shaky.

Concerning Japan - No one has a clear understanding on the extent of the damage. No one. They have been lying consistently about the nuclear part of the disaster. It is almost impossible to render any form of estimate concerning the nuclear damage. For a clearer understanding of the nuclear damage I suggest Arne Gundersen at Fairewinds Associates. The Coming Economic Depression is one of only a few sites attempting to spread some truth and now is when we need truth the most. It seems that almost everyone involved in the nuclear disaster holds most of us (potential victims) in the utmost contempt. It's simply what happens when the 'leadership' doesn't trust the people with the truth.

  5. yeah 2008 was a test run.
why aren't americans being told the truth?....why don't americans go and search for the truth themselves, why sit and hope to be told what to know, think, believe, why not go search themselves. ease, complacency, lazy, volunteering their time away with shiny gizmo's and applications that grow in their mind to demand-demand their attention/time and they obediently follow their orders-imagine, told to check email they do it, told to text and tweet and "share" and watch and votetxt and they do it all and willingly, and this all was supposedly meant to save their time so they might have more time to seek some reality and truth.
another reason to be mum for the powerz is...sales/money, their busy squeezing the last juice out of this orange, ads to go buy, go shop, get get, amass, you need it, must have it, it's shiny and new after all and if your legs ache while shopping there's a pill and one can get a cheap loan to afford those pills it's all good.
not something in the water/air/food that makes the dumbing down it's initial and ongoing choices.
why aren't people all over the world being told the truth...they are daily, they choose to hear instead the lie's

  6. 21:51 Consider that the majority of America is clueless. I hate that damn word "sheeple", it's getting old fast.

I was clueless when I had a job to go to. I was clueless when gas and groceries were affordable.

Today's example; I tuned in Good Morning America this morning (a rare occasion) and the Birth Certificate story was the hot topic. According to ABC News, the issue is a "non-issue", for in their opinion, Obozo was born in Hawaii and anyone who disagrees, including Trump, is a "conspiracy nutcase". All the evidence (or circumstantial evidence, if you will) tells me the investigation is far from over, but ABC News refused to offer up the objective thoughts, suspicions, allegations and evidence of the opposition. They simply told us viewers "Obama was definitely born in Hawaii and that's that. Anyone who disagrees is mentally challenged.

Ask 10 strangers what silver is trading for today and you'll get 10 wrong answers. Ask 10 more strangers to define the Dollar Index and maybe one person will know.

Ask me who won the Super Bowl last year and I won't be able to tell you, I don't care. The same for the World Series, the Stanley Cup and the Indy 500.

Why is "Dancing with the Stars" so popular? Why because ABC News will make it a Headline Story and will make people think it must be popular, (and they should in turn watch the show)why else would ABC News talk about it in Prime Time?

It's simple one-sided behavioral modification. Something like 80% of the people do not believe in the Official 9/11 story, yet they are all labeled "conspiracy theorists" for daring to have an open mind.

It's not the People, it's the Main Stream Media.

  7. No trates de escapar, no trates de olvidar muchas historias sin conclusiones. No pienses prometer cosas que solo ayer te funcionaban sin excepciones.
