We're Doomed and Washington Can't Do Anything About It

Washington is patting itself on the back for having orchestrated an amazing economic recovery. But Washington lawmakers are a delusional bunch of boneheads, say Marc Faber and Mike "Mish" Shedlock, editor of the Gloom, Boom, and Doom Report and investment advisor at SitkaPacific Capital Management, respectively.

The economy is NOT recovering, they say, and the U.S. faces a depressing "eventuality" of either crushing deflation (Shedlock) or runaway inflation (Faber). The timing and type of this eventuality is uncertain, say the gurus, but they are certain it's too late for America to change course.

"It's beyond repair -- it's too late," to avert fiscal disaster, Faber declares.

"The day of reckoning has arrived. The question is how long it takes to play out."

This grim outlook doesn't mean you're helpless. Faber recommends individuals prepare for doomsday by buying gold, owning assets abroad and buying property outside of major cities.

  2. They easily gloss over the fact that many of the states with big economies are in the red and bankrupting. So I suppose even though we are falling apart in many places at the seems, everything is just fine as a collective.

  3. How much longer will fiat money be used to prop up a dying economy, no one wants to buy any more US debt as its clear that US wont be able to fulfill its obligations. foodstamps, unemployment, schools being closed, most states with massive deficits, a foreign policy based on bombing, torture and assassinations. Bloated government departments.. banks still raping the economy.. where does it all end..

  4. I can see there is no consensus between the economists-deflation or inflation. That’s because they do not read the base document provided for them 100 years ago. Why is it so difficult to understand? First banksters inflate prices (in our case housing prices, or oil-I hope you don’t really believe this crap that the market decided to lower price of oil almost overnight from $150 a barrel to $65, do you? This “market” has some specific names, such as Marc Rich for example), then they stop lending, credit stops flowing into the economy and (since nobody now has cash to buy or operate business) it creates deflation. The deflation time is used by the banksters to buy out valuable assets for cents on a dollar. After they are done with looting, they inflate the prices to finish the “bloodless” victim. What is here so difficult to grasp? Indeed, the goyims lost their ability to think………

  5. If the govt would get out of the way deflation would take hold big time even in oil. Big Time inflation will never happen unless the banks release the money which they cant because they are in a zombie status just trying to stay open - 1/3 of them would already be closed if the fed didnt start extend and pretend so they could hide their bad loans.

  13. I still don't see anyone proposing a solution to this mess.

My thought is to strip naked the Rothchild's, the "Elite" the CFR, the Trilateral Commission and all the others, stand them against a wall and execute them!

We'll really have a new world order after that.
