CANADA COMPLETELY FALLING APART! COUP POSSIBLE!

OTTAWA - To save his job and his government, Prime Minister Stephen Harper is expected within Conservative circles to prorogue, or suspend, Parliament this week while his party blitzes the country with a public-relations campaign aimed at discrediting the notion of a Liberal-led coalition government.
Canada is facing a global economic crisis. Since the recent federal election, it has become clear that the government headed by Stephen Harper has no plan, no competence and, no will to effectively address this crisis. Therefore, the majority of Parliament has lost confidence in Mr. Harper’s government, and believes that the formation of a new Government that will effectively, prudently, promptly and competently address these critical economic times is necessary.
In light of the critical situation facing our citizens, and the Harper government’s unwillingness and inability to address the crisis, we are resolved to support a new government that will address the interests of the people.

Today we respectfully inform the Governor General that, as soon as the appropriate opportunity arises, she should call on the Leader of the Official Opposition to form a new government, supported as set out in the accompanying accords by all three of our parties.
Respectfully,

Hon. Stéphane Dion Leader,
the Liberal Party of Canada

Hon. Jack Layton Leader,
the New Democratic Party of Canada

Gilles Duceppe Leader,
the Bloc Québécois

Comments: Basically what the opposition is stating, is that the current Government is incompetent and "we" " collectively would like to take control. The current Government of course has nothing to do with the economic crisis. This is a world collapse. CANADA has fallen apart with everyone else.

  1. "CANADA has fallen apart." ??? Wow. Such over-zealous statements are causing me to lose faith in the credibility of this blog.

  2. Ohh, especially Liberals are useful in this situation after they got rid of the Gold in the Nation’s reserves, exchanging it for useless dollars.
Ha-ha. Let's see what scam they are going to come up this time around.

  3. I have spoken to several Canadian friends of mine since this was published. According to them this is not an over-zealous statement. They used phrases like, how is this legal, dictatorship, laughing stock of the world. Time will only tell what the exact outcome of this will be, but it is not some little fringe threat that has no real weight.

  4. Wow.....Canada falling apart? Not bloody likely and I say this as a Prime Minister Harper supporter! The ONLY thing that is falling apart in the Great White North is the insane grip that civil (theres an oxymoron!) servants and their loonie left socialist wingnut supporters have had for far too long on government tax revenues!

The Canadian Parliament is of course based on the British model....and there is nothing unusual in British history of having a coalition (even a coalition of socialist swine like our current lot!) taking over government. The only wild card in this case is that veto power has been given by the Lie-beral Party and the socialist nit-wits of the New Democratic Party into the hands of the Bloc Quebecois!

The Bloc-heads want to convert the current province of Quebec into the sovereign republic of Quebec. Again, not odd within British tradition as the Scots, Irish and Welsh all harbour similar type sentiments!

What is odd about the Canadian situation is the absolute greed and selfishly fascist dictatorial powers the Bloc-heads routinely demand as the price of short term and half hearted obedience to Canadian law and tradition.

Canadians have forgotten more about real freedom and the right of free speech than many Americans ever knew (anyone want to discuss the House Committee on Un-American Activities and its most vitriolic supporter Senator Eugene McCarthy?) and for this reason we tolerate the ignorant Bloc-heads instead of jsiling them as would happen in any other country.

However, we do not intend to hand over the government to a coalition whose most influential and pig headed party member is sworn to the destruction of Canada. Justice will prevail-the Governor General has already `prorogued` Parliament-that is to say, put everything on hold while politicians get an earful from their public.....in due time there will be an election and I think all those who put their names to the Coalition agreement will find they have frighteningly few supporters.

There are those who will say the delays are a bad thing. Those who want immediate financial bailouts and vast spending are auto workers and civil servants who plan to profit hugely from the Coalition.

All others are entirely uneasy about the cost of a bailout and decidedly uncomfortable about the inflation and future tax hits we will take in exchange for a bailout that benefits only an already overpaid few....most of whom are the architects of the financial mess to begin with.

So, in Canada it is business more or less as usual and our government is as solid as our banks. Perhaps you have read the United Nations report that says we have a banking system that is the envy of the world?

We could show you Yankee rebels how to do things properly if you wanted to learn...of course you would have to admit that not all things British are bad!

  5. To the Harper supporter, name-calling is not very helpful.

Though I see good and bad in all of the leaders involved, Harper is disingenuous when he says that the coalition threatens democracy--any student of parliamentary structures knows this.

I am not in favor of Dion's carbon/green program, nor am I married to the dogma of running deficits in a depression...

I am not dogmatic about the concept of 'keeping Canada intact' in principle I feel people should have the right to self-determination.

I have always resented the scare tactics that the banks trotted out when Quebec wanted to separate (I'm not a francophone, btw).

    What's worse is the NAU.

What's offensive is Michel Jean's decision to prorogue parliament until January 23, 2009; particularly in these critical times.

Harper's only emergency was a loss of confidence in his government, pretty selfish self preservation if you ask me...

Just in time for the US to collapse in February 2009, Canada, asleep at the wheel, what a bitter end.

  6. Harper knew this was coming. Now he is willing to admit it. What garbage. He should have had something ready when parliment opened. He is an arogant human being. I have no faith at all in him. The wood industry suffered for 4 years, and he did nothing, now he is going to bailout the auto sectors, what a bunch of crap.

  7. And with that my taxes were reevaluated and I owe another $400.
