Obama to Bring in the GREAT DEPRESSION starting with a 150 MILLION DOLLAR PARTY! How many would that FEED?
Comments:George W. Bush's presidency cost the country about $11.5 trillion, if we estimate liberally.
Of course, it's debatable how much blame the president should bear. Lets see how close OBAMA will come in 4 years. I bet he may CREAM that figure. He's starting out quite fine thank you very much!
WASHINGTON – Unemployment is up. The stock market is down. Let's party.
The price tag for President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration gala is expected to break records, with some estimates reaching as high as $150 million. Despite the bleak economy, however, Democrats who called on President George W. Bush to be frugal four years ago are issuing no such demands now that an inaugural weekend of rock concerts and star-studded parties has begun.
Obama's inaugural committee has raised more than $41 million to cover events ranging from a Philadelphia-to-Washington train ride to a megastar concert with Beyonce, U2 and Bruce Springsteen to 10 official inaugural balls. Add to that the massive costs of security and transportation — costs absorbed by U.S. taxpayers — and the historic inauguration will produce an equally historic bill.
In 2005, Reps. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., and Jim McDermott, D-Wash., asked Bush to show a little less pomp and be a little more circumspect at his party.
"President Roosevelt held his 1945 inaugural at the White House, making a short speech and serving guests cold chicken salad and plain pound cake," the two lawmakers wrote in a letter. "During World War I, President Wilson did not have any parties at his 1917 inaugural, saying that such festivities would be undignified."
The thinking was that, with the nation at war, excessive celebration was inappropriate. Four years later, the nation is still at war. Unemployment has risen sharply. And Obama pressed Congress to release the second half of a $700 billion bailout package in hopes of rescuing a faltering banking industry.

Yes we can! Throw money out of the window and make a propaganda parade to praise our new half white puppet. 150 million dollars... A human had to work 100 thousand months in his life to earn so much money if he would receive 1500 $ per month. Congratulations my fellow americans...
ReplyDeleteSore republican commentators. I am sure MacPain/Paling would be *much* wiser.
ReplyDeleteThe voters didn´t had a choice...Choose between a young nobody or an old senile dinosaur with parkinson and a dumb banana with glasses. Who had the better chances to win? Of course the young nobody. I still doubt he can fix a thing. He can not stop the financial catastrophy by yelling Chance!New Beginning!Yes we can! Sure he wants to make the people believe in a better future. But it would be more fair if he didn´t make too much hope and be more realistic, because if he fails the people will hate him and be dissapointed. You don´t play with humans feelings and expectations like he does.
ReplyDeletePlease, lets stop all this slander. What ever happend to "Love one another". If we all followed Gods Law, we would not be in this mess. We rip babys out of a mother's belly and call it pro choice. Its murder!

I do agree with the majority of the comments. They write what I think.
ReplyDeletesome of you folks that think this occasion was not worth the celebration need to put on some shackles or pick some cotton at the end of a whip for a few years- then maybe you could understand things a little better.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the Afroamericans that believe their half white president will act in their interest. He is an elite puppet to hold the black and brown population under control when the shit hits the fan during the comming collapse.
ReplyDeleteHe is to good to be true, just think about it. His ancestors were NOT black american slaves who suffered under their white fatass masters. He was raised by his white wealthy grandparents in Hawai and studied in Harvard, the elite university. The people have to be patient and not to euphoric. The first 100 days of his presidency will give us a better view of his political attitudes, but he is definetly not the savior who he wants to be. He is a political marionette, only a nice face behind a propaganda machinery for the NWO. My advice: Be patient and listen to your inner voice. Don´t beleive everything the box tells you!
Amen, James Van Patten
