  1. How about everyone stop spending money they don't have.

Oh yeah, the world eCONomy would collapse!

No different from what we are witnessing right now.

I see the automakers had a very swell month!

Oh well, I guess we can just spend what we don't have until the party ends.

  2. Bankers and investors, with their irresponsible complex financial instruments created this crisis! The financial equations have become so complex that the brightest mathematical minds, the world over, don't know what they mean anymore.

If they banks hadn't collapsed, debt personal debt would not be a problem, in fact, it would have countinued to be a blessing!

As far as the bailout, to hell with the banks getting one big fat welfare check after another. They've recieved enough money. Let the bad banks go down and give aid to the American people who are hungry and homeless (which does not include me for the moment).

  3. Completely missing the point. It's not about "good government" at this point, it's about preventing our entire society from cratering. It really almost doesn't matter what the money gets spent on as long as it makes money move and keeps people in jobs. Private individuals and corporations are sitting on their money because they are scared, and so the economy grinds to a halt. The government starts throwing money around by the shovelful, not because this is generally a great idea but because it's probably the least bad option. If it works we'll have a hell of a bill to pay back tomorrow. If it doesn't work, we'll all be too worried about what kind of cat food is closest to being fit for human consumption to worry about the national debt anyway.

  4. Hilarious blog comment from wonkette.com: Al Qaeda uses a cave complex. They can rent a couple of caves to the Dept of Homeland Security.

  5. Out of a half a trillion spent in Iraq, Republicans don't want 75 million for smoking cessation. After all, healthy lungs are overrated.

  6. You don't get it!
It's not about Rep. or Dem. It's about the spending on projects that have nothing to do with stimulating the economy. This is NOT a stimulus bill...It's a spending bill.

oh, by the way don't you know we don't have the money for any of this?

The end result of this careless spending will be the devaluation of the dollar protect yourself accordingly if you value your way of life.
