Repo Man Takes Illinois Cop Cars: No Money Left

(snippet)
The situation got so bad this month that the bank repossessed five of his seven cruisers. Four of them sit in the bank parking lot now, shorn of their emergency lights, antennas and seals. In addition to losing his cruisers, the sheriff lost three-fourths of his staff, most of them deputies, to budget cuts. At its peak, the staff had 29 full and part timers. Now there are five. "I'd say it's very extreme when it effects the protection of lives and property," said Barkett. Barkett patrols in an SUV the governor loaned him. He works extra-long hours with help from volunteers and Ill. state troopers.
"Altogether it's about a 92 to 93 mile round-trip. It's a big area for just four or five people to cover," said Barkett.

  1. All these suckers did was giving away tickets for speeding 1 mile over the speed limit. I guess we can survive without this kind of "protection". My daughter who worked in a bank was robbed. So she called the police right away as soon as the crook left the door. What did she get from 911? "Can we put you on hold, mam?" Well, now the banks put you, AH, on hold.

  2. Cops are worthless anyway. Not the 50s and 60s where cops were cops. Now they are militarized thugs with no regard for the Constitution or you rights or well being.

  5. This whole article is a joke. Those cars were sent for servicing and part of the staff were on holidays and are back.

  8. The police are there to protect and serve the interests of capitalism and the dollar. How absurd to take away their toys.

  11. We all need police protection services, but the question is: UNDER WHAT AUTHORITY DO THE POLICE SERVE - THE PEOPLE, OR THE BANKSTER ILLUMINATI?? In our town, the sheriff is elected, and the people are well armed and well provisioned. We'd gladly share vehicles and donate time to keep the rapists, thieves and illegals out of our borders. But then you see what is going on in Washington DC and Wall Street and then you realize we have lost the entire country to rapists (financial), thieves (fiduciary money managers) and illegals (The FED) It won't be too long before citizens will be demanding STATE SUCCESSION to separate themselves from these anti-Christian, anti-Capitalist bastards running the Central Banks/Federal Government. The key to winning that battle depends on the relationship between the people and their sworn duty officers. Let's learn to respect those who serve on our front line infantry, and direct our gun sights on their traitorous leaders.
