Growing Trend To Get Out of Debt: Kill Yourself
(snippet)
A Journal survey of the 33 largest states by population found 19 have data for 2008. In all, those 19 reported a total of 15,335 suicides in 2008, up about 2.3% from the previous year.
Thirteen states, accounting for 30% of the U.S. population, reported more suicides in 2008. In Florida, for instance, suicides were up 6%, in Georgia, up 2.3%, and in North Carolina, up 7.8%. In six smaller states, which account for about 9.5% of the population, the number of suicides fell.
Suicide and Recession
A Wall Street Journal survey of big states finds more suicides in the recessionary year of 2008 than in 2007.
The precise reasons for the rise in suicides aren't yet known. But suicide rates have historically risen during tough economic times, when unemployment is high, suicide experts say.
William Parente, a New York lawyer, killed himself as well as his wife and two daughters in Towson, Md., in April amid allegations that he was involved in a Ponzi scheme. "He, through fraudulent transactions, basically collapsed the savings for several of his clientele," said Cpl. Michael Hill of the Baltimore County Police Department. "Even though we cannot say concretely that the cause of some suicides, even with a background of financial situations, are related to the economy, it is rare that we normally see this many" suicides that appear to be related to finances, Cpl. Hill said.

The billionaire last year that was worth 30B and lost 3B on some deal then killed himself over it; priceless.
ReplyDeleteHe was worth 30B but his NET worth was -3B
ReplyDeleteAhh. I see. Like most people that drive a new Mercedes these days :).
ReplyDeleteLike what Eddie Murphy said about divorce. If you have 30 million dollars and the bitch takes half, you still have 15. But if you have 3 thousand ... hahaha.
ReplyDeleteYou might have to kill the bitch.
People with next to nothing that get screwed out of what little they have are going to go apeshit.
Many years ago I was down to like $19 dollars...I had a wife, my mom to care for...I felt soooo broken...Cried a lil...Prayed and picked my ass up, struggled and made it.
ReplyDeleteI sold my car, I worked 3 part time jobs, I didn't spend a dime on myself for like 5 years till I was on solid ground.
Now 17 years later I see so many people get themselves in such DEEP holes that they will never be able to dig out...I've learn to live like the Japanese...very Spartan...Too many people confuse being happy with having clutter and things...I've learned not to have many things but to have very nice things...Quality over quantity.
I wish they would understand...BUT they won't and the new generation of kids are as dense as cinder blocks...Dense and lacking any type of skills and at the same time being bred to be materialistic and superficial...I'm not a pessamist but we are in for a ROUGH RIDE.
These kids will freak...And the older ones that thought they were paper rich will panic...As for the old? They will just sadly fade away in shame.
I suspect the figures mentioned are NOT reality. I know someone who communicates regularly with the Dallas Police. For more than a year now, there have been multiple suicides in Dallas, that go unreported, just as the Dallas Police Dept under reports their crime stats (pending litigation). The cops are saying there are dozens every month in Dallas.
ReplyDeleteThe Army reports soldier suicides are at an all time high.
2010 will be record breaking for suicides amongst the dumbed down idiotic brain washed mind controlled sheeple, many will wake up one morning and find they have no debt notes,i.e. American dollars. A common occurrence now and in 2010.
Better prepare, not much time left.
It's true that people will commit suicide, but that won't be as large as the numbers of people who will cause civil unrest. I am not a professor or a doctor or anything special, although I did spend many years in college and have multiple talents and interests, so I am not using just my "intuition" to come up with this scenario, I am seeing things from the point of view from someone who has education and wisdom, and I foresee that a much larger portion of society will not choose to die, but to live. People who have a will to live who have been robbed from and deceived, who are hungry and cold, are not going to be happy campers. They won't choose to self-destruct though, they will choose to rebel and cause chaos.
ReplyDeleteAmerica isn't the only country that worships this whole Alpha Male and Female thing -- this King of the Hill mentality. It's everywhere. I think it comes mainly from patriarchy -- it's a male/dominance thing. There are some women like this too, oh believe me, I had to suffer at my last workplace dealing with a b*tch who made my life a living hell, but in the end, it's really a dominance/aggression pattern. It's not just an American "value" so please don't tack it on as being American. We've had plenty of opportunists throughout history all around the globe.
ReplyDeleteOpportunists like Alexander The Great, Napoleon, Hitler, et al. Yep. There is a word for people of this ilk. They simply are EVIL.
ReplyDeleteAnd now we've got all these little "mini-me Alexanders and Hitlers" running about the globe. They can be male or female, but given as to how dominance is a male issue, mostly male; however, be wary of the female form, they are sharp and even more dangerous I think!
ReplyDeleteSo we have a planet dominated by these types of Alexanders and Napoleons who want it all -- yes, damn it, they want it all and they want it now, and if they have to step on you to get it, so be it. There is a word for these people, look it up:
Sociopathic/Psychopathic personality disorder
Narcissistic personality disorder
Both common more so in males than females, although the females tend more so to be the narcissistic types.
If suicide is the answer to dept problems, then take a banker out to lunch, desert, after meal cocktail and then realize there are other routes to dept problems ( like trading places).

ReplyDeleteIt's a darn shame that so many people don't know what true happiness is all about; your family, wife, kids, loved ones, friends, having dinner with your close ones on a Saturday night, etc...
ReplyDeleteI live below my means, have money left over and am very happy living in an average home. Yet, I have some family members telling me I should buy a larger home, new car, etc.... No thanks, true happiness wis what I mentioned above and the greatest joy comes from helping other people.
The only sure thing about life is that at some point it stops.
ReplyDeleteTo have ascertained that certainty, is to have arrived at the one truth that we all share without regard to race, creed or color.
How wonderful to spend everything up until that point in a denial aided and abeted by expert-induced stupiditious and hedonistic revulsions gyrating around and about the orbit of the known descending colon.
What a smarmy little swamp of putrefication human consciousness becomes as it pisses and shits it's way to perdition.
How unctuous and slithering the thought process and how banksterific it all becomes with another swipe of the fatuous and feckless magnetic strip of false promises and monetary hubris
Suicide is just another great getaway to nowhere just like procreation only there ain't no return policy for there is nowhere to go back to.
"All Cretins are liars," said a Cretin and that's with a capitol "C".
See how it's done?
Good.
Buy gold and live.
Here's a good piece of advice: kill yourself and donate your gold and ammo to a good cause, like feeding the hungry or world peace.
ReplyDeleteplease don't blame the Arabs for what going on i remember the Arabs sold oil in the seventies for less than a 1 dollar $$$ a barrel
ReplyDeleteI have known 6 people who committed suicide. I do not believe they were weak; they just made a bad mistake, during a time of extreme emotional distress. Any one thinking about suicide should remember that tomorrow can be a better day; the pain will pass; life can be worth living, cutting it short is not the answer. Hang in there; I spent 20 years fighting depression, It almost won. Go to a medical doctor for help. STAY AWAY FROM PSYCHIATRIST!! They are not to be trusted. I tried to get help from a psychiatrist and was used for my insurance policy, they refused to treat me for depression until I stopped drinking. They with held treatment and used it as a carrot to force me to stop drinking. My medical doctor didn't care about my drinking, he was concerned with saving my life and he did.

Try being in debt, have collectors call, and feel worthless to even provide for your family. It is not (worship of money), Some folks feel so depressed that they can't provide the BASIC needs for their families. Now someone who is depressed because they can't have some stupid boat, or a big car, now that is worship of money and nonsense.
