No Choice: The Truth Is Coming Out on Mainstream News

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The number of U.S. metropolitan areas with jobless rates above 15% increased in November, according to government figures released Tuesday, despite the biggest one-month drop in the national rate in more than three years.

The Labor Department said 17 of 372 metropolitan areas surveyed suffered unemployment rates of at least 15% last month, up from 15 metro areas in October.
National unemployment improved to a seasonally adjusted 10% in November from the 26-year high of 10.2% hit in October. The rate had climbed for 12 out of the previous 13 months before November. Economists surveyed by Briefing.com expect the national rate to edge up to 10.1% when the Labor Department releases its December jobs report Friday.

  1. I know many people who are either out of work or or working 25-30 hours a week. And inflation and taxes are increasing which will make it hard for people to get by. I do not feel that Obama or Congress really cares about Americans at all.

I have heard real unemployment according to a website shawdowstats.com is around 17-23% depending upon the area of the country. That website simply calculates statistics as was done before they changed it to make the numbers look better.

  4. Closer to 27% out of work national average I hear. Retirees are getting hit with low interst rates, some having to go back to work part time in their 70's that I know of. Just to keep up with groceries and utility bills.

  5. The sad part is if you are self employed you are better off, but not by much. Every parasitic government agency, state, and IRS has their hand out. When all is said and done you are lucky to have three pennies leftover. Fees are skyrocketing.

We own a small business. A little better off you say...but only for now...state just increased unemployment tax...payroll taxes going up with healthcare...self employment tax going up...workmans comp going up...with the expected inflation coming, & business down, I don't know how long we can continue. Might be better off selliing everything we have worked for, and getting a minimum wage job. SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

  8. Better off self employed??? When you are forced to shut down there is no unemployment check coming your way. You can sell everything and get a low paying job, but you will burn through your savings sooner than you think. I spent the last of it on canned goods, guns and ammo.
