Who Is Bribing Who?

It’s a perfect storm. And I’m not talking about the impending dangers facing Democrats. I’m talking about the dangers facing our democracy.
First, income in America is now more concentrated in fewer hands than it’s been in 80 years. Almost a quarter of total income generated in the United States is going to the top 1 percent of Americans. The top one-tenth of one percent of Americans now earn as much as the bottom 120 million of us.
Who are these people? With the exception of a few entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, they’re top executives of big corporations and Wall Street, hedge-fund managers, and private equity managers. They include the Koch brothers, whose wealth increased by billions last year, and who are now funding tea party candidates across the nation. Which gets us to the second part of the perfect storm. A relatively few Americans are buying our democracy as never before. And they’re doing it completely in secret.
Hundreds of millions of dollars are pouring into advertisements for and against candidates  — without a trace of where the dollars are coming from. They’re laundered through a handful of groups. Fred Malek, whom you may remember as deputy director of Richard Nixon’s notorious Committee to Reelect the President (dubbed Creep in the Watergate scandal), is running one of them. Republican operative Karl Rove runs another. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a third. The Supreme Court’s Citizens United vs. the Federal Election Commission made it possible. The Federal Election Commission says only 32 percent of groups paying for election ads are disclosing the names of their donors. By comparison, in the 2006 midterm, 97 percent disclosed; in 2008, almost half disclosed.
We’re back to the late 19th century when the lackeys of robber barons literally deposited sacks of cash on the desks of friendly legislators. The public never knew who was bribing whom.

  2. Yeah, the corrupt Demorats want a Marxist society - no way! Rather have Repubs than Marxist Demorats any day!!! Marxism is the destruction of Democracy - get a clue 9:29! And just as a little lesson for you, we are not a Democracy - we are a Republic - go back to school and learn about your nation. Your ignorance demonstrates what is wrong with our country and why an uninformed electorate is so dangerous.

  3. 1030 and 1027 are stupid jesus fuckers, repukes like bush are why we are where we are. repukes ruined the country for 8 years and want obama to clean up their poopy diapers in 2 years, from an 8 year mess of two unwinnable wars that bankrupted us and put us in depression, and these yahoos want that again with repukes to mess it up further.

  4. You can be a conservative and not like what Bush did for 8 years. You can also be a democrat and not approve of what Obama is doing.

The problem is, during Bush's 8 years, all the conservatives defended Bush and Cheney like they could do no wrong.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, Democrats are putting Obama up on the pedestal.

When someone attacks Obama for his many mistakes, they say "he's better than Bush" or "repukes like Bush ruined the country for 8 years".

Well, BUSH IS GONE AND HE'S NOT COMING BACK, PEOPLE.

Dems need to look at themselves and realize they are doing the same thing that the Republicans did during the Bush years: Defending a loser to the bitter end.

  5. Say the pledge of allegiance. This country was founded as a REPUBLIC. That is a fact. A true democracy is like mob rule. A democratically run republic has representation by vote, but the minority is protected from the whims of the majority by laws. Thats kind of short, but basically true. This party bashing is part of the smoke screen. The real issues are still there. The matrix wants us divided and not focused on the real issues. A lot of people need to stop bickering and get with the program of what to do with this mess? I don't know what to do. I'm going to work on that. I notice that the comments are supposed to be civilized. Going to lengths to trash on other comments accomplishes little.

  8. 12:20 thanks for speaking up. The conversion of America from a traditional society and nation composed of people with similar language, customs, and heritage, into a corrupt, multicultural commie hell-hole is almost exclusively thanks to 100 years of agitation by Eastern European yids. Karl Marx was Jewish.

The SPLC, ADL, AIPAC, ACLU, NAACP (founded by Jewish spingarn brothers), ad nauseum, all these Jewish organizations did everything they could to deconstruct American society by fighting "racism" and succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Read Henry Ford's "International Jew". Their global system of finance has been the source of untold misery, perversion, death and destruction.

  17. The illusions of two party same-same democracy for the rich system .
whats the difference between over the table and under the table bribes and vote buying?
    The article says:

“We’re back to the late 19th century when the lackeys of robber barons literally deposited sacks of cash on the desks of friendly legislators. The public never knew who was bribing whom.”

And claims American surprise at this as if it was a trip back to the bad old days of the past!

The reality is that the openly corrupt factions of the ruling Elite the blatant industrial Robber Barrons of those days have become the military industrial complex and Banksters of today.

In recent years when times were good they stopped openly dumping the cash on the table in order to more discreetly pass the bribes under the table to their political managers.
Via political donations to their factional agents in both political parties and via “respectable” lobbyists of a two party factions, Corporate State.

This has been covered up by the MSM and the willingness of the political class beneficiaries and the “regulators” of the SEC to look the other way as supporters of a national ideology of practical Democracy and freedom of speech with voluntary “self policing” for the Elite class finance sector .
America and Americans now living an a de-industrialized America were supplementing their incomes by credit supplied by the rest of the world as beneficiaries of the Dollar hegemony system.

When the great Ponzi Economy and its more “discrete” corruption and fraud system collapsed as a debt ridden shell, some political class members and ideologists apologists and lackeys of the system , now act “surprised” at the collapse of the American two party system for sharing the bribes for handout cuts alternatively that they loved so well .
Now ,'un-expecticaly" they find themselves with a bankrupt government and as a nation of debt peons with their future incomes and assets of a now whining middle class owned or being looted by the ruling elite as debts .
Their savings have been depleted and threatened by inflatiion by money printing.

And that their own credit supply from a corrupt system in “under the counter” liar loans and opportunities for using the house as an ATM in a ramped up property bubble created by the banksters has died.

Somehow once again it now appears to them to be a broken two party system ruined by a “new” blatant corruption !

    Surprise! surprise !

  18. I LOVE how people on here pretend that something good will come if republicans get elected. Just like something good happening with the Dems. Lets get real they both suck and nothing will change. 4:04 restore honor and dignity hahahahaha

  20. Something will change if people are willing to make it change. Quit complaining and get in the game. Hold elected officials feet to the fire or continue to vote them out. There is nothing worse than a bunch of sissies playing the victim. "Nothing will change, I am so smart I see it, ... only naive rube's think they can do anything. I am so smart, blah blah blah" Of course this election won't change a lot. But it is a start. Nothing good in this country was built by the naysayer mind set, and nothing good ever will be.

  21. 9:01,

Then again not much good came from the blindly optimistic. Ignorant strategy is when people celebrate because they get a good start. Good strategy is when people make good starts and don't let themselves get wrappd up in excitement.

The fanatical morons that voted for Obama and cheered and cried like teenage girls at a Beatles concert are the best example of ignorant strategy. People really believed everyone was going to receive money from the government. Community Organizers actually had impoverished (uneducated) people thinking money was coming their way.

Us versus Them was the mentality of these clowns. Republicans do the same thing but in a less idiotic manner. An example is how Rush Limbaugh will defend a state because it is run by Republicans even though the state could be worse than most others. He actually told a caller how great Nevada was doing... stupid. It's as bad as California just about. To them the planet really could be in dire straits but they'd deny it because the word planet is in there. Planet is used too much by liberals so it must be a liberal lie. (There are examples of this everywhere).

The country will not get anywhere if people continue clinging to groups. Groups kill the individual and thereby the intelligent, thinking, feeling, and self inspecting human. Then everyone follows around the religious myths of another intellectual or a psychopathic, greedy warrior.

"Die for me in battle! I was sent by the gods to help you all. I tell you the "others" are the reason that we are experiencing a draught!"

This is the prehistoric equivalent of, "Join our institution, we help thousands of people daily find success. You'll start off as a temp and will have many opportunities. We are the best in the country."

With that in mind, the Tea Party is obviously among the more sane groups around. Just don't let your perception fall into deception by engaging too early in excitement. Be cautious and thoughtful in action, as events unfold just watch them silently and don't interact with them. Expect nothing and acknowledge everything.
Then at some point you may find yourself still full of energy while the enemy is surprisingly breaking apart. Good strategy leaves the person saying, "Wow I won? It was only a while ago it seemed impossible! That was easy!"

You think those crying as Obama got elected have any strength left in them at all? Their whole existence was depending upon a lying idiot. See? Don't expect anything = don't put your needs in anything. Acknowledge everything = realizing how much more there is to SELF than people, places, or things.

  22. Nationwide and in all elections federal and local the unions have contributed close to $1 billion. This dwarfs all other money into the process. The unions are not trying to get good leaders elected they are trying to get their surrogates elected. They want even more of your money and more control. Every union is in bed with the communist and Marxist organizations. They used to do this secretly but now are unafraid to do it openly. Their over confidence that they have this country lock stock and barrel is scary. This election is about your freedom and your money. Make no mistake it will get worse.
