The fast-moving field of mixing animal and human DNA may need new ethical or regulatory boundaries for some experiments, a British panel says.
Friday's report from the Academy of Medical Sciences looks at the use of "animals containing human material" in biomedical research.
Most experiments don't need stricter regulation, said Martin Bobrow, chair of the group that wrote the report. "But there are a small number of future experiments, which could approach social and ethically sensitive areas, which should have an extra layer of scrutiny," he told reporters in London.
Those sensitive areas include:
* Those where human brain cells might change animal brains.
* Those that could lead to the fertilization of human eggs in animals.
* Any modifications of animals that might create attributes considered uniquely human, like facial features, skin or speech.

This was done long ago. That is why you see half man horse or half bird depictions in all sorts of ancient art. We have been experimented with many times.
ReplyDeleteAfter all we were a new species created ourselves from the dna of aliens mixed with the Neanderthal. That is what the earliest human writings have to say. Plus all humans have traces of Neanderthal DNA. Our origins are not such a mystery. Actual very simple to understand.
After the development of animal husbandry cattle ,goats and sheep and the development of agriculture labor was creating a surplus above the subsistence needs of the producers, a ruling class was possible ,a class division of labor occurred beginning with slavery.
ReplyDeleteSuppression may at first have been by organised local military might, organised as the state but also by external e.g. Mongol invader types with the surplus wealth originally taken in kind ,e.g. grain.
But with the development of trade and
money value forms more efficient markets for exchange usury became possible for those able to hoard accumulated value .
USURY IS THE CLAIM OF INVESTED PAST ACCUMALATED VALUE TO RIGHTS TO UNEARNFD INCOMES FROM THE FUTURE PRODUCTION BY OTHERS .
The elites found lower classes were able to be ‘scientifically’ managed to be exploited like contented cows even poll and income taxed milked for more efficient extraction of wealth.
Most labor was simple and repetitive so little education of the humans cattle was required ,religion was encouraged ,like Pharaohism, worship of the elite class to justify and mystify any understanding that the people were being milked like cattle for the benefit of ruling elites.
Belief in a just next life or illusions of hope and change messiahs in this life is encouraged .
The ruling elites are convinced of their own innate intelligence an cultural superiority and intelligence because of inherited genes and are great believers in eugenics , prefer to breed amongst their own class to keep wealth centralised .
And tax farming of the human cattle on national lines was fully developed.
But , They feel that their own future lifestyles are threatened by occasional revolutions by their cattle-humans and so they
promote all kinds of Malthusian justifications on why the masses should believe that their own type of human culture and consumerism cannot also be preserved because of the finite nature of natural resources and energy .With too many greedy cattle that believe that they may even have human rights not to be exploited and taxed like cattle in the traditional way.
With the developement of much automatic and computerised production methods the need for masses performing the traditional simple labor tasks is increasingly seen as unnecessary and an unnecessary tax on the environment .
One solution is to experimentally breed a more simple dumbed down form of cattle-humans to do the more simple labor tasks of any personal service contract workers now required.
Another solution is conditioned psychologically dumbed down humans joe six pack types more interested in American idle dreams and gossip of the rich and famous and politico sharmans than their own life
.A class of cattle prepared to accept austerity, fed anti-depressant suppressing of individuality drugs and a willingness to accept more tax farming for environmental taxes on their consumption ad breeding and increased insurance taxes for their own
health needs.
In order to preserve the future lifestyles of the elite.
