N.J. Must Create New Sergeant Selection Process In U.S. Department Of Justice Settlement

Chris Megerian

New Jersey must create a new process for selecting sergeants in municipal and county police departments after reaching asettlement to revise a system the U.S. Department of Justice said discriminates against black and Hispanic applicants, federal officials announced Monday.
If the settlement is approved by a federal judge, the state will also be required to pay $1 million in back pay to black and Hispanic officers the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division says were harmed by the promotion process. Those officers may also be given priority for the next openings for sergeants.....

  1. I was turned down for the NBA and I'm sure it's because I'm white. Can I sue for a million in back pay because the selection system discriminates against whites?

  2. There is no such thing as discrimination against whites! I found that out also. The worlds largest I.T. company discriminates against whites daily.

  3. When I was 21 I tried to become a prostitute, and I was very pretty too. It seemed like there was a bias against me due to being a male. I'd like to file a class action law suit for this.

  4. You know the economy and job market is really really bad when you need to sue just to get a public servant position.
Get out now while you still can, it's going to get really really ugly.
