It seems quite obvious that this "tax cut" was an attempt by the Democrats to destroy Social Security. I think their plan was to use the failure of Social Security that would result as a springboard to allow them to tax millionaires to subsidize SS. The Republicans will no doubt go along with extending this cut because the cut is framed as a cut for the middle class. We need more honest politicians who have the courage to speak truth to power.
