All Detroit Sports Teams Desperate: $5 to see the TIGERS play?

This past season, Mike Kennedy paid $30 per game for four upper-deck Pistons season tickets. But as this season approached, he decided because of the economy -- and the slim title hopes of his team -- it was a good time not to renew.
"We weren't going to renew, but the Pistons called and made it hard to say no," said Kennedy, co-owner of Sentech Services in Bloomfield Hills. "They made us an offer at a ridiculously cheap price, $10 a seat."
Kennedy purchased two season tickets, which he will share with clients.

His situation is an example of what is going on with Detroit sports fans and their four pro teams. As many fans are forced to limit the money they spend on tickets in a struggling economy, teams are trying to find ways to keep them coming to events.
For example:
• The Wings are offering two upper-bowl tickets, two hot dogs and two Cokes to weekday games through December for $48.
• The Lions, who will be blacked out for the second time this season for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, have established all-you-can-eat and Family Zone tickets. And this Sunday, they will allow fans from 5 to 14 years old to run on the field after the game.
The Pistons, in addition to lower season ticket costs, offer a number of deals, including one where fans can buy a 16-game plan for less than $6 per tickets.
• The Tigers, who just completed their season, offered tickets and parking for as low as $5.

  3. If you watch NFL games on Sunday, many of the games are NOT sold out, and if you pay attention, the cameras will pick up huge seating sections vacant.

The newer stadiums are built exclusively for the "elite". The new elitist Jerry Jones stadium for the cowboys, is specifically built for the elites. The ticket prices are ridiculous, $300 for end zone tickets + other fees. The Arlington TX sheeple who voted to build & pay for this stadium for Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner, are locked out, due to the seat prices. The new stadium has one section, standing room only, for about 30K sheeple fans, sort of a food court, where they stand and watch the game and drink beer. The standing room only price for these football sheeple runs $50.00 + beer and GMO food and parking. It will cost the average Cowboy sheeple who attend the game in the standing room only section around $150.00 per person, assuming they have a couple of beers and Chile dogs or $25.00 nachos.

When you mingle with the elite, you pay the price...

  4. Agree totally with 4:22.

I have been noticing how the broadcast is careful to NOT show the
    huge empty sections especially nba
games. I laugh everytime I see those losers stand around that endzone wishing they went to a sports bar for FREE....

  5. I used to be much more into sports until I realized that it is just another manipulation. Just look at sports nuts; no interest in anything but team A beating team B.
