Can people become so broken that truths of how they are being screwed do not "set them free" but instead further demoralize them? Has such a demoralization happened in the United States?
Do some totalitarians actually want us to hear how we have been screwed because they know that humiliating passivity in the face of obvious oppression will demoralize us even further?
What forces have created a demoralized, passive, dis-couraged U.S. population?
Can anything be done to turn this around?
Can people become so broken that truths of how they are being screwed do not "set them free" but instead further demoralize them?
Yes. It is called the "abuse syndrome." How do abusive pimps, spouses, bosses, corporations, and governments stay in control? They shove lies, emotional and physical abuses, and injustices in their victims' faces, and when victims are afraid to exit from these relationships, they get weaker. So the abuser then makes their victims eat even more lies, abuses, and injustices, resulting in victims even weaker as they remain in these relationships.
Does knowing the truth of their abuse set people free when they are deep in these abuse syndromes?
In the United States, 47 million people are without health insurance, and many millions more are underinsured or a job layoff away from losing their coverage. But despite the current sellout by their elected officials to the insurance industry, there is no outpouring of millions of U.S. citizens on the streets of Washington, D.C., protesting this betrayal.
Polls show that the majority of Americans oppose U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the taxpayer bailout of the financial industry, yet only a handful of U.S. citizens have protested these circumstances.

For some odd reason, no matter how badly we Americans get screwed, we don't do anything. Actually we say "thank you sir may I have another screwing please".
ReplyDeleteWe are totally brainwashed into thinking "America is the greatest country in the world", we are blinded by a patriotic nationalistic fever, we criticize other nation's but can not even self analyze and criticize ourselves. Don't believe me? Then while at a party or with a group of people mention all of our nation's ills and see the reaction of the very people who are getting screwed. They will actually defend the very people who are screwing them.
It goes to prove one of my much earlier posts: What the hell is the average American going to do about this? Seriously - what ? Answer; Not a damn thing that makes any difference. They go to the polls and year after year the incubent gets the nod - they send disheartening letters and emails to their elected officlas and in return recieve 10 page regurgitated political rhetoric
ReplyDeleteand they get tired man --- damn tired & so they do nothing; except wait. When the train runs off the track; maybe then they can make their voices heard. Until then -- it's pretty obvious -- no one in washington really gives a damn & we can't seem to get rid of 'em.
"Nobody changes until the pain of staying the same becomes greater then the pain of change."
ReplyDelete3:25p Exactly.
ReplyDeleteI wrote my Senator several times. Each time I got this long email/letter telling me why the Senator was right and I was either wrong, ill informed, selfish or shortsighted.
I'm so disgusted by the whole circus that I'd like to ignore it but I don't feel that I can as what I thought was good about America is now nothing more than an illusion.
I wrote my Congresswoman. I voiced my concern over the completely wrong priority of putting health care reform before economic recovery and job creation. Who needs health insurance if you have no job to pay for it?
ReplyDeleteSeveral days later I got an email reply. It was as clear as day that no one in that office read my email. All I got was a canned reply about how she is fighting the good fight to reform health care in the good 'ol USA.
I live in California. I have very little money after not having a job for nearly 2 years. If I lived within biking distance, walking distance, local bus ride distance, you would see my angry ass all over Washington DC. Look up "Bonus Army" and you'll understand.
We are told that there are 27 million gun owners in the USA. If each one has 100 rounds of ammo, (and I'll guess that's an incredibly low estimate) if my math is right, that's 2 billion 700 million shots available. I was a cop during the LA Riots of 1992. I had no direct involvement in it, although I lived a few short miles from it. All it took to set off the riots was to have Damion Williams pull Reggie Denney from his truck and attack him. Within seconds, others joined in the attack and then it spread like wildfire. The riot lasted 5 days. Fifty deaths, thousands injured and billions of dollars in property loss due to fire and looting.
Are We The People fed up?
More than you know.
Is there another Damion Williams out there ready to explode?
You better believe it. It's only a matter of time.
Yes I wrote both of my Senators and got canned answers about Health Care SCAM and Carbon Tax (Global Warming) FRAUD.
ReplyDeleteI think Americans are un-informed and have been
too busy entertaining themselves and need to
do some serious research to find out why the world is having problems.

There is ONLY one way that i know of to STOP the new world order. STOP PAYING YOUR INCOME TAXES! DON'T EVEN FILE ANYMORE!
ReplyDeleteIf you are self employed its very easy but if you work for a company then just adjust your withholding on your w-4 to 9 dependents. They cannot prevent you from doing this and you don't need to have 9 dependents to do it. Your taxes withheld from your pay check will be reduced to close to zero and there is nothing your employer can say or do about it. I did this when i lived in California and the company accountant thought i was crazy but i did it anyway.
DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE! STOP FEDING THE BEAST!

ReplyDeleteI know some people who are doing just what you recommend. They formulated a plan that allowed them to disappear into the woodwork, although they had been visible for many years. I wont go into what they did, but there are indeed ways. We hear of "identiy theft". There is also "identiy removal". Computers match names, etc with previous records. If it cannot find a match, it defaults and then "someone" must determine if there is a matching death certificate, or other reason for the drop. It takes years for these to be worked out, and its a small priority.
i used to be broke and broken until i photocopy money and use it like crazy
ReplyDeleteThe only people who are really freaked out by what is going on are the middle class and powerless rich. Otherwise, every one else is doing what they have always done and what you are all afraid of having to do: scratch to make a living. I just came back from Fresno and saw TENTS and Shanty tents erected near the freeway. And I saw just a hard working America who always has and always will work hard. The America many of you know nothing about as you just hope your investments will work for you and belly ache when they don't. No, there is not going to be a SHTF. The SHTF a LONG time ago for people. It's only the ones who had it good that are so scared. Or who blew it by making dumb choices.
ReplyDeleteSo much pain? come on, do you seriously not know how much pain humans can take? Look at the developing/third worlds... you see infinitely more pain there and they do not rise up. SUre we have more guns. But the will is there as well and there is no uprising. We still have it so incredibly good here.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I agree with 7:19. It appears to me that most Americans are still in denial and not even awake.
ReplyDeleteMost Americans can not spell U.S.A. correctly anymore. I don't hate them. I had to look it up myself. Luckily we have a professional link poster to keep us aware of the goins on and such. But anyway, toys get broken and people get hurt. I think the psyche of most humans are hurt in some way because of the culmination of that crazy thing, empire.
ReplyDeleteThe United States is an old, dying nation, festering with decades of cancerous corruption, wickedness, selfishness, greed, love of self and of money, boastfulness, pride, abusiveness, disobedience, ungratefulness, unholyness, hateful, unforgivness, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure.
ReplyDeleteLet it die.
The US Constitution was a miraculous achivement of great men. It pathetically shameful that present day Americans abandoned its spirit and laws entirely in exchange for brand-name merchandise at low low prices. Hopefully a new American Constiutionally-based spirit will be reformed from the smoldering hot ashes.
I spent nine years calling George W Bush and his dimwit US Labor Secretary two of the biggest liars in US history. They rarely, if ever, made their monthly jobs creation target.
ReplyDeletePut your bills on Elaine Chao's desk by sending them THROUGH Mitch McConnell (R-Ky), her husband. He should be the embarrassment of the US Senate for the amount of mail he receives. Stop paying your bills.
The US constitution worked for about a week, but instantly people went about proceeding to ignore it and devise ways around it. You see words dont mean bollucks, written or verbal, as long as you have an apparatus for dominion over the individual. If it WAS so great then we wouldnt have reached the point to which 5:20 had alluded to.
ReplyDeleteIt is merely the fetish with law and self-congratulating stance in the first place that propelled us down the path of Roman and British law/rule. We are just the modern equivalent with extra luxuries (thanks to abundant oil and technology).
Does anyone else want to shoot the "Everybody Print money" person in the face like me?
