Given to Employees?:
"Due to the uncertainty of funding from Fisheries & Oceans Canada , I am informing you now that our payroll schedule for January 8th, 2010 is going to be put off until January 15th, 2010 at which time we will have recieved our funding for this quarter.
I and the Board of Directors apologize for the delay and short notice but we have just found out also.
Thank you for your time and patience at this critical stage."
Then: On January 14th, 2010 the employees all got a letter saying that now the payroll is being moved to February 19th! No payment for over a month? Not even an IOU?
If the Canadian Government cannot fund Fisheries & Oceans Canada, is it possible the country cannot fund ANYTHING anymore?

Yeah
ReplyDeleteI mean
like that's sure what it sounds like
Don't it ?
What's funny is what their website currently still says:
ReplyDelete"Canada's Economic Action Plan
Through this program, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is bringing economic stimulus in regions across the country."
"Canada's Economic Action Plan Delivering for Fisheries and Marine Industries
Communities across Canada are benefiting from important investments made by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. These investments which are provided through Canada's Economic Action Plan will help create jobs for Canadians today and build the infrastructure to support our fishing and marine industries for the future."
Yes, I am one of the "trolls" here so you can go ahead and delete this comment.
HEY Troll what does not paying the employees have to do with outdated wording on a website? Hit me troll..
ReplyDeleteThis is a hoax. My wife works for DFO, no letter was received, pay period is normal.
ReplyDeleteThere are a TON of Hoaxes posted here, not that I am blaming EA who does a fine job, but many of these stories, if you bother to dig further, are WAAAYYYY over sensationalized and half truths
ReplyDeleteRock on, we are on the verge of turning a corner whether the doomsdayers want to admit it or not
It seems the trolls are posting normal commentary while the hoaxes get published here every week. No biggie, the world goes on.
ReplyDelete5:32 post the links to the over sensationalized and half truths for EA to evaluate as well as the readers. If you can't, DO NOT POST HERE AGAIN. TROLL.
ReplyDelete5:32 do a troll report, for the 1 other troll here
ReplyDeleteNot too long ago I read that Canada surpassed the USA for business climate, even with their socialized medicine.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should copy.
It is not a hoax. My relative who works for a financial institution obtained a copy of this letter from her client. But in general, the country is broke and it is no surprise that some of the departments are out of money. Canadian banks issued 1.5T in loans against 50B in active accounts (aka deposits). It will collapse, if not tomorrow, then a few weeks after. There is not way out of this situation. So, the goverment emloyees are wrong if they think they are going to recieve fat pention checks while the rest of the country is going to suck d$ck. Ain't gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteThe way I read it the employees are not fisheries employees. It sounds like some organization that gets their funding from DFO is not paying their employees. (Some kind of contractor maybe.)
ReplyDeleteAt the peak of the US housing bubble the average mortgage in california was 5 times income and we now see the result,,, the Canadian housing bubble is even bigger, currently Canadian mortages are 7 times income, the Canadian housing bubble may be ready to burst,,, incidently Russia announced today they are buying Canadian dollars, they may be doing this at the peak of the value of the Loonie and just before the Canadian housing bust,,,, I wonder if those Bull market Trolls will be back here in 6 months.....
ReplyDeleteI did a troll report once in the 1st grade. Got an A+. It was all about the life of a troll beneath a bridge. I get the feeling some of you don't even know what a troll is.
ReplyDelete6:37, just cool your jets. EA doesn't evaluate /analyze anything per se. He just posts links to be read. Which is cool. No need to act like a bully without an intellect.

ReplyDeleteEA steals everything from Alex Jones websites.
ReplyDelete4:49 I think you have that wrong, they borrow everything from this site. The letter for the above article will be scanned and posted
ReplyDeleteTimes are tough all over, yet the Canadian govt. can afford to spend one and a half million dollars for the olympic torch run across the country!! What's with that.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely not for actual DFO employees as I have two friends who work for them and they did not get anything like this. They get paid every Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThey steal "everything" from your blog? Come on. I remember the article you paraphrased from Alex's site without even a link as if it were your writing or something.
ReplyDeleteDocument now posted above
ReplyDelete1:16 that was my article that they copied from this site. No link needed, when it came from this site.

ReplyDeleteOh, so you are Paul Watson, the original author of the piece?
ReplyDeleteThe den of the conspiracy enthusiasts is revealed.
Often we forget the little guy, the SMB, in our discussions of the comings and goings of the Internet marketing industry. Sure there are times like this when a report surfaces talking about their issues and concerns but, for the most part, we like to talk about big brands and how they do the Internet marketing thing well or not so well.
