BEIJING (Reuters) - Senior Chinese military officers have proposed that their country boost defense spending, adjust PLA deployments, and possibly sell some U.S. bonds to punish Washington for its latest round of arms sales to Taiwan.
The calls for broad retaliation over the planned U.S. weapons sales to the disputed island came from officers at China's National Defence University and Academy of Military Sciences, interviewed by Outlook Weekly, a Chinese-language magazine published by the official Xinhua news agency.
The interviews with Major Generals Zhu Chenghu and Luo Yuan and Senior Colonel Ke Chunqiao appeared in the issue published on Monday.
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) plays no role in setting policy for China's foreign exchange holdings. Officials in charge of that area have given no sign of any moves to sell U.S. Treasury bonds over the weapons sales, a move that could alarm markets and damage the value of China's own holdings.
If you think we have alot of sheep ---------
ReplyDeleteWait until you see what a billion of 'em look like
I thought the entire world loved Obama, how can this be?
ReplyDeletePlease, "alot" is not a word, the correct usage is "a lot"
The Chinese see the whites of our eyes and are going to pull the trigger. There are so many ways they can put nails in the United States Economic Coffin. They didn't sneak up on us, we created our own tragic situation by greed, selfishness and a screaming desire to live like millionaires on 75,000.00 a year. I don't feel sorry for the majority of us. The true poor (those who don't qualify for food stamps) in this country will hold classes on how to feed a family of four on forty bucks a week. 採取我們的食物同志
ReplyDeleteGame on.The coolies of the past have become the masteres of the present and future.America youd better wake up quick.I hope Obama not a distant decendant of Chamberlain.
ReplyDeleteWhat an ungrateful, arrogant, wannabe, half-baked, cheap, crappy nation. The People's Republic of Substandard Manufacturing.
ReplyDeletePerhaps America should remind the student who invented most of the things it tries to manufacture by calling the U.S. Navy to impose a blockade of all oil shipments to its shores.
China uses 7 million or so barrels of oil a day, 4 of which must be imported.
Oh that's right. China ISN'T a superpower.
Now the question isn't how many nukes China has, but rather how many of them are perched on satellites, ready-to-go, and only need to travel a few hundred miles to target?
Honestly... (And I'm not even American!)
Just stop buying all the Wal-mart crap if you are unhappy with the Chicoms.
ReplyDeleteAnyone here ask the question why the U.S. is selling weapons to Taiwan. Why was that necessary? This is our problem, we created this mess.
ReplyDeleteno tickie no laundry bossman
ReplyDeleteAlso, India tested a nuke recently and they are taking all of the white collar service jobs. Chew on that for a while!
ReplyDelete11.06 something to do with the military industrial complex and making money for the greedy warlord capitalist pigs that call the shots in this country.
ReplyDeleteThe US selling weapons to China is bullshit. That was to allow the Oligarchs to start WWIII whenever they like.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the LV Ritz is closing in May. More to come in LV.
ReplyDeleteChinese manufacturing is coming around. They can build things faster and cheaper than we do here, usually in the past with cheap labor, but as that has been changing so too have their products become innovative and sometimes even better than those here. In fact, we dont even produce much of anything here any more but mall walkers and brats in strollers. Dont take it personally if China sells our worthless bonds. I WOULD TOO.
ReplyDeleteBruce lee with a nuke LOL
