The southbound I-190 billboard, created by a group of Buffalo residents led by Jeff Baker, featured four young adults standing with the message emblazoned on their T-shirts, WIVB-TV, Buffalo, N.Y., reported Tuesday.
"I need a freakin' job. We could fancy this up, put lipstick on it, make it all pretty, but it isn't. The concept of unemployment is isolating," said Baker, whose small business went under 15 months ago.
He said the message targets Obama because he wants the president to take action on unemployment.
"Nothing else matters unless the American people are working," Baker said.

ReplyDeleteCut your losses, then hire yourself. It's simple. Buy wholesale and sell retail on street corners or door-to-door. Stuff like beverages, candy bars, coffee, landscaping, mobile oil & lube service, etc. Use some IMAGINATION.
If you live in a small town, move to a larger one where you have a better chance.
You must take the bull by the horns. Get out of your comfort zone and just do it.
Incidentally, the fellow found Nike got his start by selling sport footwear out of his car at sporting events.

What's the problem! I found a job after 99 weeks of unemployment. So what if I had to declare bankruptcy and I still owe hundreds of thousands in medical bills. Get a job coach like I did and change your appearance. Things are getting better. Quit being so negative.

I have been saying to people for a long time and no one was willing to listen.. We are in a Depression and it will only get worse but no one wanted to hear this.. Now people are feeling the pain. Now just who makes and delivers and gets these profits?
The profit margins for Chinese manufacturers are very thin in the competition.
And cheap labour wages are not so hot. The manufacturing export industries of china are mostly owned by Multinationals controlling manufacturing and distribution. For example Nike might manufacture in Vietnam and pay $5 for a pair of shoes and sell them for $100 dollars.
The buyers Like Wall + Mart dictate the wholesale prices to the Chinese not the other way round.
The goods are sold in Wall +Mart at high mark ups for example buy a pair of socks for 30c in china and sell them at their value for $4.You then buy things at their value determined in the competition.
You shop around to ensure you do not get “ripped off” to ensure that you exchange your value for equal value. Do things then get exchanged or sold on average at their real value ?
Are profits created by everyone that handles these goods at each stage in manufacturing ,distribution and sale arbitrarily “adding on ” an inflationary mark-up for profit to the price of say 50% and THEN
sending “two thirds of their profits” back to China as a n extra gift above the wholesale price they paid?
Are you as an American customer really “paying” for these profits on things that sell at their value?
