So what happens when the debt bubble pops?
The deindustrialization of the United States should be a top concern for every man, woman and child in the country. But sadly, most Americans do not have any idea what is going on around them.
For people like that, take this article and print it out and hand it to them. Perhaps what they will read below will shock them badly enough to awaken them from their slumber.
The following are 19 facts about the deindustrialization of America that will blow your mind….
#1 The United States has lost approximately 42,000 factories since 2001.
#2 Dell Inc., one of America’s largest manufacturers of computers, has announced plans to dramatically expand its operations in China with an investment of over $100 billion over the next decade.
#3 Dell has announced that it will be closing its last large U.S. manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in November. Approximately 900 jobs will be lost.
#4 In 2008, 1.2 billion cellphones were sold worldwide. So how many of them were manufactured inside the United States? ZeroZero.
#5 According to a new study conducted by the Economic Policy Institute, if the U.S. trade deficit with China continues to increase at its current rate, the U.S. economy will lose over half a million jobs this year alone.

#7 The United States has lost a total of about5.5 million manufacturing jobs since October 2000.

  1. it was the old industrial capitalists that exported the industry and jobs they owned to the Third world under both republican and democrat "free trade" for capital regimes
    not just the banksters.

  2. That was an interesting artical. I have one question, what are we supposed to do about it? It seems that we are just along for the ride that the rich control freaks are taking us all on!

  4. Look around at your fellow Americans. How many would you invite into your homes and socialize with?

Keep watching MTV and the crotch crabbing thugs that are raping your daughters and diluting the gene pool with their bastards. Watch your silly sports and cheer for your team while your sons are turned into Ritalin feminized zombies.

Off course industries has to locate where people will put in a full days work. I'm LMAO, this could not happen to a more deserving fucked up nation of slobs.

"Hope and change" yeah, that's a plan.

  5. I don't blame the banks or the corporate big shots. We all want to make as much money as we can. They just follow the laws and lack of regulations that allow them to. I blame our "leaders" in congress and the senate for creating this mess were in. The best way to end it is to give them everything they want. Prepare for the financial destruction of America and then sit back and watch. Remember, more millionaire's were made in the '30's then any other decade. Who's rioting around the world? The rich due to tax increases or the welfare people? They will hurt more then anybody. True justice will prevail.

  7. “# 9 In 1959, manufacturing represented 28 percent of U.S. economic output. In 2008, it represented 11.5 percent.”

That old 28% level of profitable industry and high wages for one sector of the workers was only possible because the profits came from racial discrimination by underpaying another sector of the workers.

When wages for Blacks were on average one third less than white workers doing similar jobs.

GM and other companies could even export for a profit.

America has had a trade deficit for decades and had to borrow money from other countries to pay for that as well as its wars.

So not just dumbded down workers ,but dumb workers in run down industries unable to create a profit workers.
Firstin the car industry for example they tried importing no union japanese companies, but still a lack of profits problem !
So now the American patriotic capitalists send their industry and jobs to the third world where a real profit can be made.

  8. No problem, the rise of the industrialization age was given possibility by oil. Now its starting to decline. Its just reality. Get used to it. Now maybe we will stop raping the earth so much in the future.

  9. The huge demonstration in the UK was very peaceful except for a small group of Anarchists led by the usual masked police agent provocateurs smashing a few windows.
As a demonstration of how free speech always violently threatens security ,property
    and democracy..
These demonstrations, while important in showing peoples opposition in the UK ,only let off a bit of steam and are ignored by the ruling neo-liberal elite that manage the political system and will do just as they please anyway.
Just as Obama who was a blackface actor liberal ,“left” ,“peace” candidate puppet that when put in power “changed” into his opposite for “necessary” pragmatic reasons on election, to become Bush 3 a bailout king with a tele promter .

So too in the UK, where a left Liberal Democrat was recently elected and formed a coalition government with Conservatives –surprise –surprise ,after election the “Left Liberal Democrat is just as rabid for “Austerity” and wars for oil in Libya etc as his Conservative partners.
    Surprise surprise?
But , that’s what all the political sock puppets of the ruling elite are elected for, spreading illusions of hope and change and democracy but the system just continues on, in the old way ,with a new front man.

The last huge mass demonstration in the UK was against the “anti –imperialist”
“Labour” Party government of Bliar taking the UK to war in partnership with Bush with a stack of lies as excuse.

That huge expression of anti –war feeling was ignored too .

All that people including the people in America will remember of the current demonstation is mainstream media reports showing a lot of crazy violent Anarchists.
Another great success of the Agent provocateurs!

  10. The environmental problems in the world today are not caused by oil ,or industrialization that is just man utilizing the materials provided by the earth for historical development of his social productive powers.you do not have to throw the baby out with theater and the bath oil.
Industrialization if energy efficient and utilizing any waste products wisely could be a very good sustainable thing for humanity.
Otherwise capitalist waste and pollution will drive us back to the stone age.

The problem is ,that in the current period of world history industrialization and the massive depletion of oil resources is carried out not to serve peoples real, current and future conservation needs ,but by the short term view of the production for profit system ,at whatever long term cost in the depletion of the material resources of the earth and destruction of the environment .

The rise of the modern industrialization period of capitalism was not bought about by oil!
But by capital organizing industry and workers by the division of labor for mass production.

The main, first mass production industry, being cheaper textiles for the world market. Hand tools and production methods were adapted to machinery that machinery like looms were at first constructed in wood . Later in mass produced cast Iron.
Benjamin Franklin ,I believe, helped create a cast iron bridge,

In industrial manufacturing, industry was first concentrated around water power to drive the machinery of the factories, As described by Adam Smith, Ricardo, Marx and other classical labor theory as value, economists.

This manufacturing (manu=hand) period was followed by the great leap forward to the age of steam power, MODERN industrial production, the factories, the steel industry, the pile drivers for wharves, the canals and shipping for world trade driven by coal heated steam as the energy driving power.
    Not oil.
But Steam power did not create the modern industrial age ,rather it was the developement and growth and needs of industry and its need for efficient powered machinery, that created called forth the age of steam.

America began to be industrially developed and became a world power in that age of steam and with the international division of labor, as in the cotton slavery for the factories of Europe.
American industry was not developed, note well, in ‘free trade” but under protectionism.

Oil and the internal combustion engines, petrol and diesel, as well as oil based fertilizers nuclear power etc., were developed later in the age of imperialist colonialist Empires
(Now converted into neo-colonialist empire in the oil backed dollar hegemony system)

Electrical power for industries also became a reality by building dams.
Modern industry internationally organized by multi-national companies, now uses plastics and silicone chips technology etc. with production, but not consumption of the wealth produced, primarily now in the cheap labor third world.
Imperialist Wars for oil in the Third World are an everyday reality in order to keep the rich world, private car consumer cultures functioning, are an everyday reality.
Only thirty years of capitalist industrialization, fueled by coal and oil energy for
Production for profit, earned by exporting goods to the first world consumers has destroyed or severely damaged most of the peoples living environment in China.
While nuclear power in a country that also once thrived on exporting commodities looks like it will now do the same in Japan.
For civilized mankind to survive, the corporation run production of profit system and its oil waste madness for rich world consumers lifestyles, has to be put under humanities control

  11. Say what? You have it so wrong, so bass akwards I don't know where to start! Your really trying to tell us that production for profit is the cause for Chinas 1.2 BILLION peoples living enviroment?! Yeah - right on -

Tell ya what there Mr. Universe high thinker; raise chickens sometime; you'll get a REAL lesson on REAL life - not some trumped up, pumped up super hype garnered from reading yet somebody else's regurgitated crap.

You take a 16X16 foot coup and you get 12 chickens - everybody's happy; you put 24 in that same coup and give it a week and the place reeks of ammonia, half are starving because the strong won't let them eat and the rooster dropped dead 4 days ago because he couldn't keep up.

To say it has to be put under humanities control - just say what you really mean Mr. Universe - re-distribute the wealth; take my corporation; break it apart and give it to 3,000
