Cost Of Libyan War For One Week: 600 Million

One week after an international military coalition intervened in Libya, the cost to U.S. taxpayers has reached at least $600 million, according figures provided by the Pentagon.

U.S. ships and submarines in the Mediterranean have unleashed at least 191 Tomahawk cruise missiles from their arsenals to the tune of $268.8 million, the Pentagon said.

U.S. warplanes have dropped 455 precision guided bombs, costing tens of thousands of dollars each.

A downed Air Force F-15E fighter jet will cost more than $60 million to replace.

And operation of the war craft, guzzling ever-expensive fuel to maintain their positions off the Libyan coast and in the skies above, could reach millions of dollars a week, experts say.

  1. The no blood for oil, not in our name peace crowd, has been patriotically tamed and now fully Support “Our boys” the “rebel civilians” in Libya!
This time it is “different” this war for oil is “humanitarian” led by a ‘left” Democrat peace price winner ,with non partisan republican war hawk backing . American empire people in a united front for cheap oil!

There's not much difference between Democrats and Republicans on Libya. All the Democrats and liberals realy needed was a Black George W. Bush, who says he's not a warmonger ,for a massive class delusion on US imperialism.
Besides Obama has claimed he has a NATO bitch to do the rest of the heavy lifting now the expensive cruise missile bombing stage is mostly complete.
So no Marines will actually spilling American blood on the ground as they did under that stupid Bush!
    So its all good.
As well as the open AL CIADA mercenaries as described in the UK Daily Telegraph story , http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8407047/Libyan-rebel-commander-admits-his-fighters-have-al-Qaeda-links.html

There are the more regular CIA agents on the ground fighting for America.
All are now “democracy protesters and appointed Leaders looking for a new CIA oil concession in partnership with Al Jaseera from democratic Qatar as chief propagandist showing Arab support!
McClatchy Newspapers published a profile of Hifter one other such leader on Sunday. Headlined “New Rebel Leader Spent Much of Past 20 years in Suburban Virginia,”
    http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2011/03/26/111109/new-rebel-leader-spent-much-of.html
“Hifter’s arrival in Benghazi was first reported by Al Jazeera on March 14, followed by a flattering portrait in the virulently pro-war British tabloid the Daily Mail on March 19. The Daily Mail described Hifter as one of the “two military stars of the revolution” who “had recently returned from exile in America to lend the rebel ground forces some tactical coherence.” The newspaper did not refer to his CIA connections.
The role of Hifter, aptly described 15 years ago as the leader of a “contra-style group,” demonstrates the real class forces at work in the Libyan tragedy.
Whatever genuine popular opposition was expressed in the initial revolt against the corrupt Gaddafi dictatorship, the rebellion has been hijacked by imperialist and Muslim brotherhood Al Ciada agents .
The US and European intervention in Libya is aimed not at bringing “democracy” and “freedom,” but at installing in power stooges of the CIA i, while allowing the imperialist powers to loot the country’s oil resources and use Libya as a base of operations against and for controlling the other popular revolts sweeping the Middle East and North Africa.

  3. Strange how enforcing a " no fly zone" seems to resemble a full on invasion.Nothing at all to do with oil ? , how about asking Zimbabweans this question , their tyrant of a dictator [ despot] is every bit as bad as Gaddafi and yet the " civilised world sits on their hands.

  6. Wow I wish some other "global empire" would come over and liberate us and rid us of our evil dictators, at least everyone would eat, and only the "king" would be rich. Not like it is now where top 3 percent rich and everyone else starves. Actually, communism never looked so good!, especially when the entitlements run out and the 3% will have that as well, then you will be begging for Fidel Castro to come "liberate" us.

Thanx for listening to me bitch, I'm gonna go watch the new BF3 trailers and drink a Bud, like a good little sheeple.... and sometimes I wish I was still a sheeple, its getting hard to handle here lately.

PS, Yes I will sell physical when BF3 comes out this fall to upgrade my computer and slip back into my online combat PC game addiction, like I did with Battlefield 2 and let whatever happens, .....happens.

  7. All is not lost for Qaddafi personaly since his deal in recent decades to be an accepted as a pro american ‘anti terrorist" anti -Al Qaeda member of the intenational elite went bad . Desite Qaddafi showing good faith in giving up any aims for defensive weapons ,including possible nukes with destruction under international supervision carried outin order to end economic sanctions Then inviting in American and British oil companies like BHP and so on. Qaddafi was removed from the US terrorist list as the potential of Libyan oil money investments smelled good.
Qaddafi had became Bush and Obamas new darling bitch.
So ,Son Seif got to party on with the crème of the worlds elite jetsetters and money managers crowd for a few years .

But an unacceptable level of the Libyan profits was still flowing through to the people in a time of western economic crisis .
This was a clear case of mismanagement by any elite .So even a reformed Qaddafi "had to go".

True his family loot was seized by the west to pay the CIA rebels as a first warning shot
and he was told its “time to go” by the elected puppet leaders of the ‘international community” and by the international opinion of the free world elites as reported in the MSM. Or else he would be hanged like Saddam for crimes against his own people ,at the hands of the bomber countries. Those that only bomb other peoples countries humanely for himanitarian reasons as we see in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and now Libya Etc

The bombing for regime change and cheaper oil is proving expensive, but now that the main oilfields and refineries are safely in the hands of the West’s Bomb backed “rebels” dividing the country , the west is prepared to negotiate a few small crumbs for Qaddafi if he agrees to end further national resistance.
While the west continues unofficial arms supplies to the “rebels”. Britain (officially)
“has so far taken the position that the arms embargo imposed by the US and NATO applies equally to the liberated east of Libya as to areas in the west still under Gaddafi's control.
But of cousrse US secretary of state Hillary Clinton said it would be "legitimate" to arm the rebels.”
Gaddafi is still holding out and a last chance way out to save more war costs is being sought at an international elite meeting held in London, Cameron Hilary Sarko and all that crowd were there ,as they decided the future of national sovereignty and oil of Libya.
Negotiations are being suggested by the west with Qaddafi. It is claimed Qaddafi and
his sons may be spared ,unlike Saddams , with a small retirement fund pension and exile in some place in darkest Africa being arranged.
With the oil in the Wests control Oil export management of the Libyan oil concession for a fee arrangements have been made already by the “provisional government of Libya” with “democratic” royal Qatar.

Qatar is the home base of the Arab royal “free press” in the Gulf, Al jaseera is as you know the same news company that Qaddafi complained was reporting all the huge massacres in Bengazi and what brave heroes the CIA and Muslim Brotherhood were.
Qatar is being paid off for all their hard work behind the lines now.
    Quote:
    http://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/-/world/9084070/rebels-say-qatar-ready-to-market-east-libyan-oil/
BENGHAZI, Libya (Reuters) - A senior Libyan rebel official said on Sunday Gulf oil producer Qatar had agreed to market crude oil produced from east Libyan fields that are no longer in the control of Muammar Gaddafi.
"We contacted the oil company of Qatar and thankfully they agreed to take all the oil that we wish to export and market this oil for us," said Ali Tarhouni, a rebel official in charge of economic, financial and oil matters.
"Our next shipment will be in less than a week," Tarhouni told reporters in the rebel-held eastern city of Benghazi."
