Working For Free: Slave Labor Here In America

SUPPORT WIKILEAKS

- With nearly 14 million unemployed workers in America, many have gotten so
desperate that they're willing to work for free. While some businesses are wary of the legal risks and supervision such an arrangement might require, companies that have used free workers say it can pay off when done right.
"People who work for free are far hungrier than anybody who has a salary, so they're going to outperform, they're going to try to please, they're going to be creative," says Kelly Fallis, chief executive of Remote Stylist, a Toronto and New York-based startup that provides Web-based interior design services. "From a cost savings perspective, to get something off the ground, it's huge. Especially if you're a small business."

  1. Personally, I think it's about time to see consequences for not paying your bills. This a bit drastic though. There are quite a few people that walked away from mortgages on 2nd and 3rd homes because they could no longer sell them for a profit and make money.

"im rich yeaaaaa", not really rich just maintaining your level that you had since 2007, unless you "bet the farm" on metal, and the way it is manipulated, you must have balls of steel. Rich?, meh, better off than 97% street Joe, you bet.

  8. Debtors prisons or future FEMA WORKHOUSES?

    Will they pay minimum wages?
Anyway unemployment figures will fall .

America jails more people proportionally than any other country in the world including–state capitalist China.

Does that prove that Americans are more naturally genetically criminal than other peoples by nature ?

Now that America is the biggest debtor country in the world more jails should be opened.

More Debtor prisoners put to work is the way to go for a nation of debt peons not prepared to pay their debts to Shylock like decent honest people .

Those who accepted in free contacts
student loans, credit card debts or …those who obtained sub prime loans by “deception”, even if with collusion with the banks, should not only lose their houses and any deposits they may have made ,be sent to jail to pay off the balances in unpaid criminal debt to “Society”.

Isnt slavery and prison labor still constitutionaly legal for convicted criminals?

No restriction on government was made in the constitution .It should do its Duty!

Amendment XIII. Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

So reads the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, ratified by the states on Dec. 6, 1865.
Convict more debt peons as the criminals they are !

Amerikan slavery remains an explicitly legal form of exploitation but in many American prisons "Some labor practices simply place countries outside the community of civilized nations”.
We know that American law clearly permits both slave and prison labor, a fact that is not relevant in mainstream debate because of the mandatory assumption of American democratic virtue.
But to more than a million prisoners of Amerika, who labor under slave conditions, this hypocrisy is the very heart of the matter.
