The Sovereign Debt Crisis Is Never Going To End Until There Is A Major Global Financial Collapse

By Michael Snyder The Economic Collapse

n the past, there certainly have been governments that have gotten into trouble with debt, but what we are experiencing now is the first truly global sovereign debt crisis. There has never been a time in recorded history when virtually all of the governments of the world were drowning in debt all at the same time. This sovereign debt crisis is never going to end until there is a major global financial collapse. There simply is no way to unwind the colossal web of debt that we have constructed in an orderly fashion. Right now the EU and the IMF have been making "emergency loans" to nations such as Greece, Ireland and Portugal, but that is only going to buy those countries a few additional months. Giving more loans to nations that are already drowning in red ink may "kick the can down the road" for a little while but it isn't going to solve anything. Meanwhile, dozens more nations all over the globe are rapidly approaching a day of reckoning.

  4. What good will the gold really do you? If something terrible happens, there's only a weeks supply of food in any major city. Re-supply will be difficult if not impossible. You can't eat gold, and I'm not going to trade any of 'my food' for your gold! Start storing a year or two of food supplies. Then, stock up on guns and ammo. Only after you've accomplished that, should you consider buying gold.

  6. Or someone in Argentina circa 2001.

Yes nothing is more important than food, water, defense. But gold definitely has its place and YES people WILL take a tiny bit of gold for tons and tons of food post SHTF.

  7. 5:40. Re-read the post from the person you called an idiot. He was quoting the post before him, the first line of which was the question "What good will the gold really do you?".

5:14 simply re-stated the question and answered it with "Ask a citizen of Zimbabwe".

If you are going to call people names, at least be right.

People i know everyone is anxious and scared about the economy unraveling so fast. We all have a sense that something terrible is happening, and we all feel helpless about it also.
Lets not take our frustrations out on each other, instead try to help each other prepare, especially the non-believers.

  10. I think you have it backwards. Post SHTF it will take a lot of gold to buy a small amount of food.

  15. Just start a web page, give yourself a title like economic analyst, post the most sensational scariest articles, beg for money and sell advertising. No problem, just $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ lots of $$$$$$. Yes your paper will be worthless so you might as well give it all to EA. Don't forget to click on the Ads, there is lots of $$$ in those clicks. Yeah I'm a little pissed this AM.

  16. It never ceases to amaze me how little pieces of worthless paper can invoke so much pandemonium in this world. This entire economic episode is by design, it most certainly is not an accident. It is about control and about someone other than God sitting on His throne.

  19. Survival tip #143

Don't throw out old clothes you no longer wear. Wash them put them in plastic bags and store them away. Post SHTF you will not have the luxury of easy access to water and power and things will get smelly. Those old clean clothes will be a welcome old friend.

  20. nope, zimbabwe is a bad example. it had hyper-inflation, which is the opposite to a depression. a currency weakens in inflation (which is when you really want to have gold) and strengthens in a depression (it strengthens because there is a lack of liquidity). the dollar will become far more valuable in a depression at least in the early stages. all markets today are massively leveraged so when liquidity drys they will all free fall as traders have to sell to meet margin calls. Gold will probably fall less than other markets but it will certainly fall a long way in a depression as people scramble for dollars. who know what is going to happen, but gold is not your saviour in a depression i'm afraid.
