4 weeks ending March 19, 2011 – 37 deaths (avg. 9.25 per week)This amounts to an increase of 35% (the total for the entire U.S. rose about 2.3%), and is statistically significant. Of further significance is that those dates include the four weeks before and the ten weeks after the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant disaster. In 2001 the infant mortality was 6.834 per 1000 live births, increasing to 6.845 in 2007. All years from 2002 to 2007 were higher than the 2001 rate.

Often stories like this turn out to be phoney. But lets assume it's true. Why would you think of radioactivity??? I suppose if you are partial to far out conspiracy theories it would appeal to you. The radioactivity from Japan detected in the U.S. is so small it is meaningless. You get more radiation exposure from walking past a library with granite steps then you do from Fukashima. You can detect more radiation from a common clay building brick then you can attribute to Fukashima. It is a testament to our scientists that we can even detect radiation levels so low from Fukashima. It is 1000 times lower then it would have to be to even be considered important enough to notice.
ReplyDeleteLet me offer another possibility for the increase in infant mortality that is about 1000 times more likely considering the cities you mentioned. I'm guessing most of these deaths are children of illegal aliens who brought with them diseases and unsafe food practices.
