Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled “Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A ‘Vision’ of the Future.” It was written by retired Army Col. Kevin Benson of the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Jennifer Weber, a Civil War expert at the University of Kansas. It posits an “extremist militia motivated by the goals of the ‘tea party’ movement” seizing control of Darlington, S.C., in 2016, “occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council and placing the mayor under house arrest.” The rebels set up checkpoints on Interstate 95 and Interstate 20 looking for illegal aliens. It’s a cartoonish and needlessly provocative scenario.
The article is a choppy patchwork of doctrinal jargon and liberal nightmare. The authors make a quasi-legal case for military action and then apply the Army’s Operating Concept 2016-2028 to the situation. They write bloodlessly that “once it is put into play, Americans will expect the military to execute without pause and as professionally as if it were acting overseas.” They claim that “the Army cannot disappoint the American people, especially in such a moment,” not pausing to consider that using such efficient, deadly force against U.S. citizens would create a monumental political backlash and severely erode government legitimacy. Seems to me the plan states Tea Party merely for the palatability of public consumption. If we were to see an "occupation" of an American by a forceful uprising, I wouldn't expect it to come from the figurative camps of concerned citizens waving American flags but rather the literal camps of commies and miscreants spreading filth in every sense of the term while preparing and storing makeshift weapons and reveling in the anarchy they raise.

October 2013, the stock market has been gyrating wildly in a more or less downward direction, the markets are definitely very spooked. October 9 the stock market is down a 1000 points on the open, it trips the circuit breakers, no one has a chance to get out, everyone is stunned the market rallies very strongly. The next day it happens again and even more wildly gyrates. The media fanned public outrage blames Wall Streets unfair "high frequency traders" for the crazy stock market. Obama steps in and issues and executive order to ban all high frequency trading. The media loves him. The Stock Market drops like a rock. Over the next 6 weeks it loses 60% of its value.
Obama fires Ben Bernanke and replaces him with what many are calling "the pretty boy" or "the dancing with the stars" FED. Few Wall Street insiders have confidence in the new appointment. The new FEDs popularity ratings are off the charts with women.
America is officially deep in recession. Obama gives a check for 2000 dollars to all make less then 28,000 a year. There are many ways to claim this via many exemptions to get this "Growing America" check. Within a few months another Growing America check for 3000. Then months later 5000. The dollar comes under heavy attack. The media blames China. The Fed surprises everyone and raises the yield on treasuries a 1000 bases points to stop the run on the dollar. The stock market tanks even more, making it an 77% total loss over the year, 91% real loss if inflation is factored in.
October 2014 some banks in cooperation with the State of Texas issues script for debts public and private. It is how they are paying city, county and state workers. It is touted as an honest dollar for an honest days work. Also it is perceived as a hedge against runaway inflation and is very popular. It is crowding out the dollar in most of Texas and some neighboring states. Some people are calling it a quasi form of succession, State officials say it is not but a necessity to maintain fiscal sanity.
The Libertarian party is considered Americas new third political parity, its popularity explodes.
The idea of joining the "Texas Republics" new money system as an alternative to the Washington madness is very popular in some states.
Humboldt County California declares itself a "Marijuana Republic" and success from the state. California bondholders have now taken an 85% effective haircut on state bonds, California is bankrupt in all but name. Federal troops descend on Humboldt County.
Many of the States who joined the Texas Republic fear the same. Calls to impeach Obama begin. The stock market rallies like crazy.
